Gentlemen, not much to report but quite a bit in terms of observations. After dinner with a fellow ISG member and a thing back home I had to take care of the other day, I went to see a BarraVIP girl. Nothing exciting to report. Delivered good service at the usual rate.

1. You are 100% correct about the non-pro talent. Really unparalleled perhaps aside from Russia. A late afternoon stroll down Ipanema, or a crawl through the Leblon bar scene is all one needs to see the light and believe. What the pros here lack in looks (relatively, because they are still good looking) they make up in service.

It would be dishonest of me to not give a complete account of my findings in this adventure. I came to Rio with the intent to mostly monger but also explore the non-P4 P options. If nothing changes in the next few days, I will be leaving here satisfied with the P4 P options, but much, much, much more impressed with the non-P4 P scene.

8.) One of the best non-P4 P weekend bar scenes is in Leblon on the street with all the restaurants heading towards the mountain. You're welcome.

9.) If you care about nothing else I have said so far, at least listen to this part. Learn Portuguese.

Uber tip!
Tip 1
If it's your first time in Rio, and you're coming in through SDU, make your way over to the south side of Bossa Nova mall. There's a huge waiting area outside just for Uber.

Tip 2
Order Uber Black. I ordered regular Uber and had my request canceled several times. After a few minutes, I changed my request to Uber Black and I was matched with a driver in 1 min. The cost was only $2 more.

Hotel
Staying at Astoria Palace. Seems like an older building, not too impressed. Room's pretty small and had a musty smell when I entered. Internet's pretty good at 63 Mbps down, 35 Mbps up.

Thanks for the Uber tips. They are very helpful. During my recent tip I have observed so many accepted rides cancelled. I guess that is one way to force customers to move to more expensive expensive options. They charge customers to cancel rides but I guess drivers don't have such restrictions.

I agree that Astoria Palace is very old and even their deluxe rooms are small. I read other member sharing same view so it didn't surprise me.

Not brand spanking shiny and new, but not total fleabags either (although you can definitely find some of those). On future trips, I won't be staying in Copa. I've been to Rio enough times now. Time to move up to a nicer neighborhood! LeBlon or Ipanema or even Botafogo. Or if I was retiring maybe even Barra.

Another time same trip a girl stole my shampoo which I put in a smaller travel bottle and a cigarette lighter, I had to buy shampoo $4. But how stupid is she because I paid her well and she gave it all up because I know she is dishonest.

I flew GOL. I called the airline to confirm my booking was done correctly. Their website is in Portuguese, and when they ask you to fill out your birthday, it doesn't say whether you should put month first or day. While I was on the phone, I also asked if I'm allowed 1 carry on plus personal item (e. G. Backpack, laptop bag). She said no, so I purchased a check in baggage option. It's only $12 each way, so not a huge deal. But when I was boarding, I noticed most passengers had a carry on plus personal item. So it seems like it IS included. Also, when I was checking in for my flight, the lady just assumed I was carrying on both my luggage and backpack.
