Yeah I don't do any of that wingman stuff either. It is a waste of time. Unless it's a close friend or family, I would do it but if it's some stranger its not worth it.

I have always pretty much been a lone wolf in this thing. I'm not quick to trust other people. Other things that would be helpful would be if both are at the same experience level in terms of traveling abroad in general and in terms of mongering in particular (neither is needy of the other in these two areas). Language skills, or having a comfort level with operating in environments where you don't speak the language, are extremely useful too. The flight between Brazil and Colombia is usually thru Sao Paolo and Bogota. You need Yellow Fever vaccine certificate to travel in the direction of Brazil to Colombia. You can get the certificate or waver in Medellin, or at the Bogota airport for free. You should purchase Brazil domestic flights early to get the best and much lower price.

You probably can do it this way, US - Colombia - Brazil - US.
