Generally in barra, near posto 1, there are lots of live bands on the beach.

I would suggest there is more likely to be more and more local live music out towards recreio, where papatinho, a popular local rapper / surfer lives, and where one ISG member who shall remain secret (who had coined the 'secret terma') works for papatinho, who lives in some cheap surfer apartment, and just wants to surf and rap, his success notwithstanding.

This secret ISG member also does work for the pineapple brand of rappers, which is a big influencer.

Count me in to jam on drums. I have always wanted to play more drums which I did for 7 years in the band. We're on a mission from God near Cidade de Deus!

Going to be doing a 2 week trip in Brazil. Just got back from Costa Rica and it was OK. How do I get to / from Barra de Tujica? I want to check out the beach there and Transamerica. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of info out there. Appreciate it!

As it's been discussed at length, members might not respond. Do a search on Vagabundo1's posts. Read his Rio posts back from January. He spends a lot of time in Barra and writes about it frequently.

If you are a newbie to Rio, you might want to start your trip in the middle of Copacabana. If you are staying for more than a week, you can decide to move to Barra because you want something different after five or six nights in Copa.
