That keeps me busy on cheesy dates since I like to smoke and drink, dance, do bullshit and just chill. Those are the good ones. SA here in Rio is 90% pros or SB with experience.
Cons: For Tinder or Bumble here in Rio, girls you match with will bounce or even you will lose interest if you cannot communicate in Portuguese outside of a very select few. Especially if the girl is a true nonpro and trying to find romance, they won't date you to converse solely via Google translate. And lots of time will be wasted if you're here short term or just few days. Not worth it.
For SA, being mainly pros, many many of them are scammers and that turned me away a bit. For ex one wouldn't tell me her exact town, claimed she lives in the country side about an HR away from Rio. We conversed a bit and we decided on meeting, we decided on no commitment, no pricing, and would only have dinner and decide later if there's a vibe. She then asked if ID pay her bus ticket, and that if it's late that evening to get a hotel for her or allow her to stay at my apt since doesn't travel late by bus. I said sure you'll be in the hands of a gentleman, no worries. She flirted and assured me that I'd love her and said likely we'll be doing "things".

Each time she'd change the topic, then I noticed also that the receipt doesn't contain a date, name, etc. I immediately said to her, dear, I would only pay and reimburse that ticket if it shows your name, a date, and trip info like to and from destination, I'm not stupid!! You are clearly trying to scam me, also I've been in rio for a min and I know a 1 hour bus ride costs like 5-10 r, and put a huge laughing face to mock LOL. I'm always a nice guy unless you make me an ahole.
She replied she didn't like that drama and said lets cancel. I replied oh yeah I already did. So it seems it's actually her thing, meeting dumb and stupid gringos all day, sex or not she'll profit an easy 200 r for doing nothing since likely live near copacabana area. Many others use fake pics obviously, and was contacted by many others that pretended that they're far away and want travel money. Yes SA has scammers everywhere, but I have used it in the US and few other countries especially Col, and the level of sharpness of the girls in Rio seem to be on a different level. They're smarter and smoother. Bottom line I used it for fun since already had a paid membership when arrived from Col, however there arent as many users as Col and also there are many venues / clubs here to meet quality women. Final verdict is using apps here is only good if your bored, working at home some days and want to chat while you're busy to kill time. It works also if you're rich, not too bright or shy in person and willing to pay 5 x the going rate.
