I have always pretty much been a lone wolf in this thing. I'm not quick to trust other people. Other things that would be helpful would be if both are at the same experience level in terms of traveling abroad in general and in terms of mongering in particular (neither is needy of the other in these two areas). Language skills, or having a comfort level with operating in environments where you don't speak the language, are extremely useful too. The flight between Brazil and Colombia is usually thru Sao Paolo and Bogota. You need Yellow Fever vaccine certificate to travel in the direction of Brazil to Colombia. You can get the certificate or waver in Medellin, or at the Bogota airport for free. You should purchase Brazil domestic flights early to get the best and much lower price.

Looking for some advice or really any guidance on taking a trip with a stop in multiple countries. All of my international trips have been round trip from the US and only to my destination country. With a little more time on my hands next year, I'm looking at potentially going to Colombia and Brazil back to back before returning to the US. Obviously, it takes a little more coordination and planning, which is no problem. But is there any serious flaw to this approach. I'm thinking the trip will be 2-3 weeks. If it matters, I'm thinking most of my time will be Medellin and Rio, neither of which are new to me. And I'm definitely going to stop in Sao Paolo because apparently, we all owe it to ourselves to experience Scandallo at least once in our lives.

Anything that I should keep in mind that I haven't considered with regards to travel complications?

My backup plan would be SE Asia, that I've never visited and barely researched so that is really intimidating Or hitting up Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica.

I think this is no problem at all. I did Medellin, SP, and Buenos Aires all in tenish days. This was during COVID so the procedures between countries varied and this was a pain in the ass getting retested and different paperwork. But now it should be no issue at all. And yes. You must visit Scandallo to have a life well lived! 😋.
