I ran into the owners (Father and Son) twice. On both occasions they had the doors open, people working inside, the doormen were there, etc. They told me they were going to open on both occasions, once on Wednesday (I saw them on a Monday); the next, the following Monday (I saw them on a Friday). Your suggestion about the girls "freaking out" over a foreign telephone number is simply misguided and a bit silly really. It's just not true! These girls are used to dealing with men from around the world, especially on apps like WhatApp, or LINE in Asia. Never had this problem ever, and don't anticipate that I ever will. People need to stop giving out bad information, bad advice, and misguided suggestions that don't comport with the reality on the ground. And my God people please RTFF before asking questions! If one more guy asks someone to explain the differences between Rio and Sampa! Geez! How many times has that been discussed in these forums? RTFF folks! Senior members I thought are here to try to provide information to help new and infrequent visitors traveling to Brazil to help them along. I do not really feel senior members need to jump on opinions of other senior members unless the information is tangible factually incorrect (I. E. , 4 x4 open tomorrow when in fact is a closed burnt out shell). General opinions are that opinions of the author not to be taken personally (I. E. , You paid x too much I would not {you should not} do that I get supper low rates because I do x, y, and z). I would not give that a thought let alone respond. I must assume exception is with the language of "Anyone worth their salt will start initiating contact (two weeks)". Really this is not a hard and true statement for anyone to get all concerned about. It could be anytime prior to departure if you feel the desire to do.

Remember a lot of new travelers indicate on forum its inconvenient to do work / research while amidst the fun once arrived. So, if you do some pre-planning it might help with the stress of arranging meetings. Just an opinion / guide. Not to be taken literally. I just give advice (opinion) to make ones travels easier not to fend off attacks. Lets not over think this stuff.

I must not be worth a damn. I do not have a reason to be talking to hookers 2 weeks before anything. I do not even know if I am going to be horny 2 Sundays from now at 11am. Yes my opinion and others I have talked to who travel extensively developed a generic timeline given activities like work, packing, etc. And preparing for departure, (time moves fast when preparing for a trip) one of the items that slips IFF one wants to is to have a few highly probable meeting set up in advance especially you want to engage with a particular GP. If you want to freelance totally or work spare of the moment, then that's what you do. Also, I do not mean converse every day with any GP to make arrangements that's not necessary.

Wrong they do not freak out when they see a foreign number. In most cases they expect it. The only thing they want to know is if (or when) you are in Rio. Anyone worth their salt will start initiating contact (two weeks) before departure to get questions answered and schedule meet up day/time.

WhatsApp calls are free and can be done via Wi-Fi and with a cellular data / internet plan. So, when you get any SIM card ensure you have Voice / text / data plan included so you can use WhatsApp or any social media app when out of range of Wi-Fi.

First timer on the ground reporting. Got into Rio yesterday and staying at the Marriott in copa, no problem bringing girls, least not the first one I had today they even called up to tell me she was here.
