Transamerica sounds amazing. Definitely have to give it a try on my next visit. The girls are really girls, right? Curious, is it like one of those places in Germany, called Stasi, I believe, where the girls run around naked and they serve food? There used to be a guy named Bubba here. He seemed to know a lot about the nightlife in Rio. Bet he knows all about that Trans-Atlantic place. Anyone seen him around? He would make a great wingman to accompany you to Help and maybe the Balcony Bar. Think he even knew a little Spanish.

There is a free bus that leaves hourly from av gastao senges 185 direct to av presidente wilson 147 (the consulate), and returns at 16 h10 and 17 h20, that comes with your transamerica room. The bus goes via beaches in Leblon, Ipanema, Copacabana.

This address is also where the laundry, cafes, pizzas (borda e lenha 5 g pw bordaelenhabarra) r. Av gastao senges 185.

Sperto's criticisms are well taken and valid, that said, the reason I and my guests love it here is the peace, quiet, more spread out geography, clean water for ocean swimming, better security, better pictures at the beach.

It's the girls -- including the local girls -- who tell me consistently, this place av gastao senges 395 is better than previous places I have had at botafogo.

I've lived in Centro, including on this trip. It is true it is closer to some spots like T65, etc, and as such one can get the girls up to the room faster. But your view from the pool at Hotel Sao Francisco is the rooftops of other high rises, or 20 m across the alley to another building.

Transamerica is landscaped, spread out, safe well patrolled by police even at beach.

With the free bus (and with a little verbal jiu jitsu, girls get on the bus too), it is no cost to get to the locations for mongering described.

I honestly find Copacabana too packed, jaded, touristed, tacky and boring, not to mention dangerous (its where the local criminals go to look for gringo victims).

There are not many gringos if any in Transamerica, which is a plus.

Vagabundo I have a question regarding something mundane but necessary. I have decided to book at Transamerica for part of my stay and was wondering if there are laundry facilities available there. Also I would be interested in meeting up and learning some things. Drinks and entertainment on me of course. I am working on a bitcoin wallet so I can support the forum. Thanks.

Good perspective as always but some like a change of scenery as well. While Transamerica is a gold mine for talent, in my opinion it's not as easy as one thinks especially for newbies or experienced mongers for that matter. The place is a residential building and somewhat discreet, yet everyone knows what is going on. Don't mistake this place for some sort of resort.

I highly recommend linking up with Vagabunda if you can since he knows all the hacks or using PhotoAcompanhantes (search on Barra the Tijuca for location and filter on "transamerica" Read up on some profiles to get an idea. Contact the girl using WhatsApp and try to meet in the building to avoid bait and switch or any issues.

I'd hope that I can get in touch with you for more info as well Sperto as I have also read your posts with interest. I've booked my first 3 nights in Copa at Pestana Atlantica based on previous posts from last year but then I figured that it's likely that girls I find on the rooftop will be girls from Transamerica, so might as well check it out. Besides, having been Rio twice I though I'the check out the Barra area as I've done the Zona Sul tourist stuff. Still, the centro Privès are the best value for money and I don't want to be paying the 400-600 the girls on Barra VIP's are charging.

I'd value any additional insight cause after a being shut down this year this trip has to be epic.

You can fly from Sao Paulo and get to the action in Rio quicker than you can go from Barra to the action in Rio.

Long time lurker here. Want to say many thanks to all the regular posters, especially Vagabundo1. I have been to Rio twice before but both times with my colleagues who are not in the hobby. I'm planning to go back in Feb and have booked my ticket. I also today sent off my membership form with the €25. Small price to pay for PM privileges. At Vagabundo1 this would take up to 4 weeks but I hope you are receptive to hearing from me to get the details of the Transamerica manager Ney, and also to join one of your patrols if possible. I initial plan is to spend 6 days in Rio before moving on to Bogota but if the Santa Fe clubs are not open I may stay in Rio longer.

Last trip in 2015 I could only sneak away to Eden Spa (Bruna) and Massagem Tijuca (Michelle). Eden Spa was a little pricier at are $220 vs are $140 with overall quality of both very satisfactory. Little did I know that our favoured late night drinking spot was across the street from Dolce Vita. Used to see some stunners walking past but was too cheap to pay for a hotel / motel when the opportunity for a 3 some with some hotties presented itself for are $600. You live and you learn.

Have been taking notes of names of the Centro Privès to try for this time but my main advice to anyone considering a 1st trip or new to Brazil is read the forum and check out local forums like GPArena for girl / house reviews. Also, one or two trips to a prive daily can be quite a sexually fulfilling and a value for money way to do Rio but with some of the hotties about, I understand the desire to take some back to the hotel. Can't wait to see Transamerica.
