I stayed there at Sheraton once, and it would take the hotel shuttle an hour to get to Arpaodor, which is between Ipanema and Copacabana. Hell, it took us 40 minutes to get through the tunnel once.

Not that it really matters, but there is no tunnel between Sheraton and Arpoador.

This coming November will be my first time visiting Brazil. My trip will be for a total of 12 days split evenly between Rio and Floripa. I'll be going there with 5 friends, one of which is from Brazil. There are a few questions that I have and it would be great to hear and advice of recommendations about the areas and activities that are available.

I'll be staying in the Leblon area while in Brazil. With all the lurking that I have done on this forum I have seen little to no information regarding the mongering in this area. Everything is focused on Copa, Central and now in Jardins (Transamerica). Is Leblon Stale with the mongering? Will be be required to Uber to all the hotspots?

All the prives that I've looked up have good looking massage therapist, but they mention that it is solely for therapeutic services. Is this true? I was under the impression that there are extras to be had at these establishments. Especially the ones that are located in the Central area. Am I missing something?

There are many escort sites that I've been checking out where the escorts have a location. How is the security at these locations if we were to go to their location? Has anyone had and sketchy situations visiting an escort at their location rather than them coming to your hotel? Many of the high end escorts that I've seen are operating from Transamerica. It looks to be a trek to make it out there for just an hour or so. Is this a hard location to get to from Leblon? I'm leaning toward having them come to my hotel even if they are going to charge the time / uber fee to come to me. I believe that the hotel that I'm staying at is not guest friendly so I will have to use the Love Hotels.

We are looking to hang out at the beach during the day, visit the sites, get a massage in the afternoon and monger at night. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is there a reason you picked Leblon? I wouldn't stay in Leblon for the first time visit. I stayed there at Sheraton once, and it would take the hotel shuttle an hour to get to Arpaodor, which is between Ipanema and Copacabana. Hell, it took us 40 minutes to get through the tunnel once.

Might not be an issue now with COVID and lighter traffic, but I think you'll miss out staying away from Copacabana during your first visit to Rio unless you really want some quiet fun.

The sites that I have looked at for the escorts are BarraVIP, Hotside and Twitter. I have reached out to a few on Hotside using WhatsApp and the prices were around are $500/ HR. I was interested to see if full or half day options were available and have received mixed results for the escorts.

The hotel that we are staying at the first 2 nights is Praia Ipanema Hotel. I'll have to check and see if they are guest friendly. It looks to be walking distance to the restaurants and bars in Leblon.

Leblon is a fine area. A small canal separates Leblon from Ipanema. I've gone in and out of Leblon a few times to hang out with local friends. I hardly notice I have left Ipanema. As far as important details:

- LT's generally a family-oriented beach. The more fun Postos (lifeguard stations) are further east in Copa and Ipanema.

- While you can walk or cab to Centaurus, Solarium a better termas is just a short ways on the other side of the small lake.

- You should have easy access to Copa and Centro by way of cab or metro.

It's not foreign mongers first choice for areas to stay, but it can work. We don't know what is important to you. If you want a short walk to a lot of things and be in the center of some action, you probably don't want to be staying in Leblon. It is on the periphery of the action.

Leblon is a nice area, IF interested the closest Termas is Centaurus (http://www.centaurustermas.com/contate-nos) which is approx. A 34 minute walk depending on your exact location. Then there is Copa and all the rest of Rio which you will either be using Uber or Metro-Subway to get around.
