I absolutely love going to the clubs in Rio.

Sou Nunca, Pink Elephant, Radar, Red (Niteroi), Club 00, Rei de Bacalhau, Vitrinni Lounge, Castelo Das Pedras, Via Show, Olimpio, 40 Grau. So many amazing places to go dancing, drinking and trying to hit on the local girls.

In fact, one of the best ways I could get "free dates" with terma girls was asking them where they were from. When they would tell me, I would rattle off clubs in their area and they would be shocked that I had been there. They would laugh and ask "What the fuck were you doing in Duque de Caxias (Caxias 18) or some baile funk club deep in the hood?

Regarding Nuth and Ilha does Pescadores, two very different places. As RioBob wrote, Nuth closed at least 5 years ago, a upperclass club popular even on Sundays (or Mondays) when it was the night for horny older women to go there. Ilha dos Pescadores, located on a small island in one of the mini-lakes, had a much more simple and fun clientel IMO. It used to be extremely popular on Thursdays in the nineties. I don't know if it still exist.

I think most of the old clubs are long gone. Baronetti, Banana Café, Melt, People, Trash, Mariuzinn, Gipsy, Scala, Plataforma and the afterwork-clubs in Centro. No worries as there always pop-up new clubs.

Wow that club in Barra I think you are referring to was called Nuth. I just googled it and on tripadvisor the last mention of it was in 2015 so doesn't look like it's still in business. This club was probably very popular 15 years ago or so, very popular club but looks like no more.

Nuth was a great club, but I don't think it was on the water. I think the place with the small walking bridge was Ilha dos Pescadores. It was very close to Nuth. It is no longer in business.

Okay keeping it real, I would say the Lapa street party is where it's at now for a music scene with civilians.

Back in the day, many gringos would simply book an apartment near Help, get up late, hit the beach, visit Meia Pataca and other outdoor cafes, hit Help Disco, fuck all night, rinse and repeat. Even if your only cultural exploration is the Centro termas, I think it's good to check out the city a bit. Perhaps try to learn some Portuguese.

Learning Portuguese, for those of you who have Pimsleur I, II and III like I have, I've been just using them for refresher past couple of years right before a trip. I would listen to the 90 lessons and refresh my memory, not learning anything new but just to maintain. Recently I discovered Pimsleur published level 4 and 5. I purchased level 4 on Amazon's Audible, not free and not cheap about $120 with tax. I have already went through the first 3 lessons and it offers new words and good practice on past and future tense which is more advanced, so I'm learning again.

Don't expect Rio to be like Pattaya. From 2001 to 2013 I visited Rio regularly. In 2013 I started hitting Pattaya. My first Pattaya trip, I encountered many flat butts and chests. However, on subsequent trips I found nice round bubble butts, although they're not as big as the Brazilian babes. I've also found naturally busty Thai babes. There is also plenty of silicone. At java Man. This is great intel. I've been going to Pattaya since 2014, and it probably fucked my mind up. Prior to Pattaya I never did P4P. And I'm sure Pattaya spoiled me. And since 2014 only traveled SE Asia. And Pattaya is just amazing. With that said, I guess the only positive of covid its forcing me to try other places that I always wanted to go, but put off cause I loved Thailand so much.

I find that guys who are enamored with Thailand tend not to like mongering in Brazil nearly as much. Admittedly, there is a level of bright lights and in your face excitement in Thailand that you don't find in Brazil, which is more understated. But for me, it all comes down to the women and what type you like. As you say, Brazilian women are in general far less inhibited (leaving them to be "overstated" in the room in a good way), and they have more of the type of narrow-hipped, bubble butt build that I like (but of course it's a populous, diverse country where you can find all types and colors). Don't forget you can visit prives in the afternoon especially if the weather is not good for the beach. Sperto is probably right advising newbies to stick to Belprazer, Dudas and the Copa prives. Termas don't seem to get going until after 5 pm.

I think most newbies who are there for six days or more visit Corcovado Mountain (the Christ statue). Sugarloaf Mountain is fine, but for me a far behind second priority from Corcovado.
