Planning my first trip to Rio as well in November, in regards to hotel I read here portoboy was girl friendly and confirmed today it is. I had booked a room through booking.com based on the information here and when I emailed them to ask after checking in can my guest be changed and the response was there is no problem with guess being changed. I don't mind having to register them as long as I don't have to pay. I see you all saying pestaña is girl friendly I had originally booked there but too many poor reviews had me choose portoboy, just FYI.

Rio vets will remember Karla Models (an escort agency) and The Book.
Pictures on their site had blurred faces and you could either pay to see The Book without blurred faces or an escort you had ordered would bring it with her.
Unlike places such as Barcelona, most of the girls will not have their bodies altered in photos. However, their faces may not be as attractive as you had hoped. I usually make appointments with massage site girls. The girls on the massage sites have always been the ones in their photos but not as glamour shot looking. The reason I do this is because if you just show up and request a lineup, you get who is available. The most popular girls might not be available.

(Thank you for looking after me) As a gringo you'll be able to access most of the hotels without being resident, we often drink at the Hilton rooftop, Miramar etc as no one tends to stop you if you know what you are doing, you can even use their pools just take your own towels.
WRT taking girls back, it really is hit-or-miss and I think a lot of it depends on how the girl looks. The girl I had at Fairmont showed up dressed respectably, but most of the girls don't because they simply don't have the money to buy nice clothes.
Like you I am not a fan of love hotels so I'd be more inclined to AirBnB it.

Not a fan of love hotels and just enjoy the company in my own comfort and surroundings (preferably with a balcony). I miss the ease of Thai guest friendly hotels but got to get some poonannie somewhere.
Are we limited to just booking the 3 in this post without issue or any other properties or workarounds?
Thanks Gentlemen.

In my experience (all recent and heading again in November for 8 weeks) the below hotels work:
Hilton (charge).
Fairmont.
JW Marriott.
For those reasons I have been booking apartments the past few times I've been and only in hotels for a week or so at the end of my trip, I am doing exactly this when I am there later this year and will stay at Fairmont for the last 8 nights, whilst Hilton is cheaper, at 250 are $ per night for company this can add a significant amount to the bill if you return with more than one girl.
Hotel tip: Book for two people and if you want you can check one girl in FOC. It has been my experience that when you return with another some hotels charge and some don't allow at all.

Checked out prive on Ulrich. Entered, said 4 girls working for some reason only got to see 3 cause one was in the shower all of a sudden. I chose natia, black, bikini tanned. TIGHT Body + tattooed Eyebrows. Cost was 100 for 30 minutes. She was tight, session was enjoyable, pretty standard, but I wanted to get out of there. We tried anal which she happily accepted, I couldn't get in. She was just too tight. I will head to 583 at some point soon. She is definitely worth the value and a quick bang (I think can be had for 70).
Anyhow, I banged two other randoms, one was Giovana Branca. Nice girl and service but not my type.
I've come to the realization to have sex with top tier talent (which is why I've come to Brazil), you need to pay 200-300+. Maybe I'm wrong, but everything for 100-150 hasn't been what I've come to Brazil for, and I'm fine with that.
Cheers.

Hi Gents,
How are you guys getting into Rio and along with travel insurance. Here in the UK the Government here has put Brazil on a list of countries we can only visit when conducting 'essential travel'. That is the key phrase. We have COVID insurance policies we can buy that will cover us in Brazil for up to 6 months, but if it came to a claim, they will scrutinise the reason you are there to see if it was 'essential travel'. The slightest doubt and they won't pay. They have listed some essential roles but not all. It includes family members visiting someone who is terminally ill, Government employees on state business, Military on State business, essential business fully recorded and documented etc. It would be a nightmare without comprehensive cover as it means no private ward etc, join the rest, and also foot the massive bill yourself at the end, let alone repatriation along with a doctor and nurse on your flight, something that will probably cost at least £100,000 according to insurance companies here.
Are you just taking a risk and hoping you won't get ill with your fingers crossed, or do you have a plan? Is the advice from your Government different and as such does this not effect your health care insurance in Brazil.
Regards.

As far as tips, I don't walk in day one and throw down money. It can make a difference during a stay if I'm are bringing up a lot of women in the later hours. This is especially true if I am part of a group. I want the porteiro on my side if things go down one way or another.
Remember some of us don't have great Portuguese language skills. Perhaps a garota has a strange attitude or there is some confusion. The porteiro might be the one who smoothes things over. By the way, I have had porteiros talk to girls for me on the phone. Of course now with texting and translation apps, that's less critical, but just an example of how they helped me out.

This is because serving is a job in those countries that is paid a wage. In the USA, the server is paid a sub-wage and the rest (usually far in excess of what would be a normal wage elsewhere) is made up of tips. The idea is that it is a reward and not an incentive, but in the end, it becomes a little of both. Give me good service and you will get a good tip.
For those of us who have worked for tips it is seen as a sign of appreciation and that is how I view it. I am making a statement, as an American from a country where tipping is the norm, that I appreciate you, doorman. It should be noted that the doormen do receive a bonus paid by the residents at Christmas time. It is like a tip to recognize them for their service. It does also act as an incentive for the doorman to diligently fulfill his duties. Since I am a temporary resident, I am giving them their Christmas bonus early.
I always get the names of the attendants in the Termas locker rooms and always tip them usually with a kiss on the cheek the same way I greet them when I arrive. Not the reason, but if you do not think these women do not know all the girls and talk with them, you are totally clueless. New to Rio Gringo, that attendant (mom) might be the reason a girl decides to go back to your place with you. When it is only about money, the girls are known for flaking out and not showing up -- they get a lot of such offers. You want them to have a reason to take yours. If you are one of those, I pay them to leave kind of guys, good. You make my life so much easier and more rewarding.
Now about those who have their hands out looking for tips. The question to ask for me is have they done anything for which I want to show appreciation? Most of the time the answer is no and no tip for you.

Will be making my return and last time I was here was about ten years ago doing Help. Traveling is so restrictive now. Will arrive in November so I have some time to get reacquainted be would appreciate any advice. I heard that the pickup bars have move north along the beach from Help location. I can only hope to be able take the trip when the time comes and things get better.
