I am really looking forward to my 1st trip to RIO. Not sure if it can compare to Thailand. But I'm keeping an open mind.

Brothels? Apartments? I think I know what you are asking. I'd say a termas was a brothel. I'm guessing by apartment you mean a prive.

A prive is small. Maybe a handful of girls are available at one time. Typically, prives are offices in a regular, working office building. That's why members tell newbies to act discreetly when entering the building and the elevator. Make sure you have the exact office and knock only on that door. Don't go around the building asking the people where is the prive or where are the girls.

Maybe some prive regulars here can tell you if going to a prive with four guys is a good plan. It's not a social thing like a termas or a bar / club. You also likely won't find four girls you want in one place. So maybe two guys go prive shopping. Of course, some buildings have a couple prives, but you still have to split up.

......First day I went to solarium and Monte Carlo still not many gringos in town and the girls are anxiously waiting for September to arrive for things to pick up. Because of exchange rates not usd $110 is not bad so already been to solarium twice this week.

Yes there are plenty of love motels, usually pay for an hour or so and they are not expensive. Usually what would happen is you would pick up a girl outside Mabs (near Arena hotel) and they would bring you to a motel which would be very close to Mabs, price maybe 20 dollars or less I think. Usually the standard at Mabs wasn't great but who knows as its not exactly a normal time now.

Dolce Vita is a club on copa where are the freelancers go so you should hit there. And bring a girl from there to a motel or your hotel if you want.

I'm not sure what the thermas scene is like now but my favourite was Monte Carlo in Copa. Usually the hottest women in the thermas. I'm not sure why you think there is not a lot of info on termas here. You would have to read posts from pre-March when things started to quiet down. Solarium has to be on your list. Centro has less expensive termas. Keep up here to see how things progress with the virus. Someone recently wrote that the termas were slow, but that will change.

If you have the time and patience, you might want to take a look at gp-guia.net and look for the highly rated escorts. It takes a small bit of knowledge of Portuguese and / or Google Translate. As much as some guys might think otherwise, reviews aren't exactly Shakespeare. I would say expect to pay R400-500 for top escorts. I don't know what you should expect for R200.

We decided since this was our 1st visit to Rio, we wanted to be on the beach of Coca. So we decided on Arena Hotel. (We can always change if we get advice to change) but we thought it was a good location for newbies. Close to a few thermas (Monte Carlo) and hopefully a few good bars.

Barbarella is shut now which was a great boite but you should go to Casablanca which is in copa as well, which is a boite / club. Maybe pick a girl up there and go to Rio Senarium in Lapa which is a samba / normal club. Google it!

Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, is the street with most of the apartment brothals. Copa 583 is a good spot there. Very cheap but I prefer the thermas and dolce vita scene.

Can anyone advise on how to register for forumx? I used to have an account, but it looks like they changed up their site and may require a Brazilian cell number for registration. Everything seems fine through the registration, but I never get any confirmation to my email address. I'm looking at going back to Rio for the first time in awhile, and the info there is always great and up to date.

This might seem overly simplistic, but in these situations I usually "borrow" a working number from other websites. Perhaps a Rio restaurant's phone number as an example.
