Pretty excited to be visiting in a few weeks. Not sure how long I'll stay but looking to stay a solid few months.

Will probably start off in Rio and see what happens.

Apt has private elevator entrance. Is it worth tipping the doorman out there to ensure they take care of you and your "guests'?

I kinda would not tip. If so, (one time during stay) possibly on last night / departure. Do not want to create a expectation that Airbnb guest should tip. Its their job and the building pays their salary.

However, If it makes you feel safe and or enhances your experience, go for it. Do what you like! A tip can't hurt.

I've had zero issues. Brought up 4-5 women. None of them looked like total hookers. I assume it can depend. If it looks like you're about to have an orgy, maybe it's a nice gesture. Only concern if you're staying long term they might view you as an ATM.

Thanks for that info. I noticed my airnb host in his house rules said only "high class people allowed in" hahha. I was like what if I meet a girl on the beach or in a bar. He said as long as you are discreet. So it's kind of confusing. But again just hope the doorman doesn't give me problems. If so, give him a few bucks.

Thanks Jimmy, I'm glad you caught my error. It was a 40 Reais discount if you showed them the Facebook promotion. Other recent promotions applied 40 reais of the entrance fee towards consumption.

I'm sure most everyone will agree that it is still worth $20 to visit Solarium at least once. If you don't think of it as in and out, but rather as entertainment most vacationers gladly pay the entrance fee.

You're on a first-time vacation. You don't have to take one for the team and find new termas. Just go to the tried and true. Solarium, 65, Monte Carlo. You will likely want to revisit one or two a second time. I have gone into the top termas with four or five guys and we would almost always all find someone to our liking. Hell, we rarely desired the same girl. One buddy wanted slim blondes. Another wanted busty girls. I wanted morenas with nice asses.

Barring any major changes on the COVID front, it sounds like the termas hostesses are back at work. You might have read about 4 x4 (closed due to a fire). Then there is Centaurus which was the New York Yankees of termas to some not too long ago. It sounds like Centaurus is having terrible management and recruitment issues. It's also very pricey.

On a rainy day, you might decide to go to Monte Carlo or Solarium around 3 pm just after they open (5 pm is more optimal). Just have a drink, a snack, chill and wait for more girls to arrive. Don't expect Rio to be like Pattaya. From 2001 to 2013 I visited Rio regularly. In 2013 I started hitting Pattaya. My first Pattaya trip, I encountered many flat butts and chests. The Rio locals call themselves Cariocas, they're less inhibited than the Thai ladies. They like to hit the beach and get suntans, unlike the Thais, who have an aversion to brown skin. LOL.

Rio is a lot of fun, but Pattaya is more fun simply because it has more options and venues. (Well, More fun for me.) And I still go to Rio, I just spend more time in Pattaya now.

The difference in looks does not matter much for me. One day I would like Brazilian, the next Thai and yet the other Romanian. The real difference for me is service and Brazil knocks them out of the park.

Sou Nunca, Pink Elephant, Radar, Red (Niteroi), Club 00, Rei de Bacalhau, Vitrinni Lounge, Castelo Das Pedras, Via Show, Olimpio, 40 Grau. So many amazing places to go dancing, drinking and trying to hit on the local girls.

In fact, one of the best ways I could get "free dates" with terma girls was asking them where they were from. When they would tell me, I would rattle off clubs in their area and they would be shocked that I had been there. They would laugh and ask "What the fuck were you doing in Duque de Caxias (Caxias 18) or some baile funk club deep in the hood?

Regarding Nuth and Ilha does Pescadores, two very different places. As RioBob wrote, Nuth closed at least 5 years ago, a upperclass club popular even on Sundays (or Mondays) when it was the night for horny older women to go there. Ilha dos Pescadores, located on a small island in one of the mini-lakes, had a much more simple and fun clientel IMO. It used to be extremely popular on Thursdays in the nineties. I don't know if it still exist.

I think most of the old clubs are long gone. Baronetti, Banana Café, Melt, People, Trash, Mariuzinn, Gipsy, Scala, Plataforma and the afterwork-clubs in Centro. No worries as there always pop-up new clubs.
