Posts: 98After a long absence from Rio where I traveled to twenty other countries, I am starting to look at going to Rio again. However, going back to Rio makes me a little nervous. Before, I rented a room from the guys at America Tours (now closed), spent a lot of the daytime at 4 x4 and Luomo (both closed) hung out on the beach at Posto 6 (Hooker section), at at Meia Pataca (closed) and pregamed at the patio restaurant outside of help (closed), and spent late nights at Help (closed).
I just don't know what to get excited about in going back. I felt like a Rio pro and now everything has changed so much and none of the places I went to even exist anymore. Back then, I also knew personally most of the “must have” girls and obviously they left the game long ago. I miss so much of the good old times, and much of what I learned about mongering was because of my trips to Rio. I even remember my first trip to medellin, and feeling like it was a mistake and a waste of time because I loved Rio so much! I read trip sports and just don’t see the excitement that we as a group had from back in the day.
I'm really thinking long and hard about all of this. Decisions, decisions.
Dan.

I am getting laid in Brazil.
Not reading some message board sniping about minor BS.
Hahah.

I'm planning my first mongering when borders start opening up and plan to report back and upload pictures etc.
For a first trip, does Colombia vs Brazil have any major advantages over the other? Through some research, prices look about the same. One thing I really like about Brazil are the "termas", I don't think Colombia has an equivalent where you can go to a sauna and relax like a FKK club in Germany and monger at the same time. Thanks for any info.

Transamerica barra is a hotel or flats?
I am a European Portuguese, do you think it's easier to hook with girls? And not get charged with the gringo tax.

Since I slid into Brazil in mid March, I have not been hassled about insurance.
I do have it through Uncle Sam.
I may have had Covid several times, but its a cough and it passes. Memento mori.
I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees; or to paraphrase, I'd rather get laid 200 more times in Brazil than sit in involuntary incarceration in the states.

Not sure how good they are paying claims though. Not as big and reputable insurance player as Allianz, Zurich, AIG or AXA. Hope to not have this issue. Good luck.
