Termas are the best option for the gringos.
Only there you'll be treated almost like the locals.
If you go to nice places you'll be treated nicely.
If you go to trash you'll be treated like a trash.
Simple as that.

I made a fantastic decision to visit Euro Spa near Jardim Oceanico Metro. I saw 2 cuties out 4 and opted for the dupla for 300. The third chick was cool too. Priscilla is a slim blonde with tight body. My other GP was more thicker with a big bunda. The sex was better than the massage. I give the massage a be. Very clean and nice lighting to get you in the mood. I went after 7 pm on Tues. Another site rates them as a top 5 Rio prive and I agree. After 40 minutes of massage and action I was happy. I burnt the rest of my hour in shower and redressing. Make sure you bring exact change if you like to tip for good service.

Just finished an incredible first time tour of Rio de Janeiro. Here are some things I wish I knew as a newbie.
The Sunday is a total dead day in Rio. All money exchanges, massage shops in Copacabana are closed! Nothing was open. It was a horrible situation as I didn't exchange money on sat which also happened to be a holiday. The only place to exchange money was Rio Sul shopping centre in afternoon which offered 375 for 100 USD. Luckily I managed to exchange at Real Palace Hotel in Copacabana at 390.
I should have made prior arrangements for Sunday. Ended up sleeping alone.
Rio does not have freelancer scene, Mab; s was dead or hopeless on 3 nights I visited before Sat. Had 2-3 fuglies outside with may be 2-3 inside. Nothing that I would like to put my paws on. May be it picks up a bit around midnight but I don't see the attraction to wait that long.
Despite trying hard, I could not get a tourist sim. It was very frustrating to find even Tim stores refusing to sell tourist "chip".
Some Taxi drivers are scoundrels, an asshole charged me almost 35 Reals extra during a short ride from Ipanema.
Uber is excellent in Rio and the way to go. Make sure to download offline translate which comes in very handy.
Saturday and Sunday Copacabana beach was full of predominantly black families, other days it was mixed and not so busy.
Rio is a safe city, the whole unsafe thing has been blown out of proportion by a factor of 10000. I travelled alone in Copacabana, Ipanema, leblon, Rio sul right upton 9 PM. No problem at all. Tons of peeps looking at their phones on streets. One needs to be careful as it is abig city but I found it to be safer than NY.
English is not widely spoken but people are friendly and sign language works well.
Sexo Scene.
I thoroughly enjoyed visiting massage shops in copa area with copa 583 being my favorite. They have excellent rooms, about 10-12 girls each time I was shown the lineup. The service quality was excellent. Other places had 4-5 girls max each time I checked them out.

Posts: 708Update from my Sat. Reports
I went to Mab's tonight after 11 pm and the 6 scorching hotties did not show up or they got snatched up earlier. I guess it's a work night for the locals. I saw 3 really old garotas. Dolce Vita has no choice but to waive the cover charge on weekdays. There were probably less than 10 garotas on the dance floor. It probably picked up when Mabs closed 10 minutes. Later but I am not at liberty to sleep in. Sadly, I did not run into the chick with the beige skirt. I regret not negotiating with her on Sat. Casa Blanca (strip joint) had 2 decent looking cuties at the door. But one of the chicks used a racial slur within 20 sec of me talking to the barker at the door. That killed the chances of me parting with R100 for 2 drinks or whatever they charge on weekdays.

It's hard to pinpoint the best time to visit Prives. Girls seem to have flexibility in their sched. I saw 3 ladies I liked in the Copa 583 lineup last week. I didn't pick the first 4 ladies today. The receptionist told me to return in 5 minutes. And their would be 3 more ladies. I'm not sure how many ladies Copa employs but it seems I've seen 80% of their lineup in my 2 visits. I thought between Copa and Eden I had a month supply of Options. I was wrong. At Eden only 3 chicks were available at 16:30. The queue of 15 beauties is not an everyday thing. With boates you have more time to decide and talk. More costly for motel and garota and less safe and discreet. Some trash places have long commutes and bad quality not worth small savings. I'm not going to waste my time or Copa 583 time by going back since it seems they offer about 7 garotas. I'm going to venture to other prives. I hit Bel Prazer Fri. And they had 4 garotas at 11:20 am. The place was kinda backwards because half of girls that kissed the latino customer didn't give me a kiss. I only liked 1 of the 4 ladies (blk outfit / busty) but the chica I liked didn't give me a kiss during presentao but the other guy so I bounced.

Right around the corner. November 20th is a Holiday. Something related to Black Heritage. Things are slower than usual.

I got 4.1 on Halloween and 4. 12 today with the place before the park that has best rate pasted on front windows. Next door had a lot of people exchanging but they gave 4. 05.

I got better than the rate on Google and your ATM rates at the casas in Copa. Sao Paulo rates sucked.

By trying different methods, using an ATM connected to a major bank (not a stand-alone ATM at a hotel, for example) will net you the best bang (sic) for your buck. Even my regular "jewelry store / travel agent" sources came up woefully short compared to bank ATMs.
*Bradesco Bank ATM at Barra Shopping: 3. 96:1.
Kiosk next door to Bradesco Bank: 3. 67:1.
ATM at hotel: less than 3:1 (for use in emergencies only).
My favorite back-door grumpy exchange dude in Ipanema 3. 75:1.
Ditto from my guy in Copa. YMMV.
*My bank adds a $5. 00 out of system ATM fee, which knocks the rate down to 3. 90:1, but still significantly lower than any other option.
I still use a credit card at hotels and restaurants because I don't have to pay foreign currency exchange fees, and I get that day's exchange rate. But at Termas I use cash to take advantage of a fairly significant discount.
TL: DR Payment Methods.
Cash from a bank ATM while mongering. CCs everywhere else.
