By trying different methods, using an ATM connected to a major bank (not a stand-alone ATM at a hotel, for example) will net you the best bang (sic) for your buck. Even my regular "jewelry store / travel agent" sources came up woefully short compared to bank ATMs.

*Bradesco Bank ATM at Barra Shopping: 3. 96:1.

Kiosk next door to Bradesco Bank: 3. 67:1.

ATM at hotel: less than 3:1 (for use in emergencies only).

My favorite back-door grumpy exchange dude in Ipanema 3. 75:1.

Ditto from my guy in Copa. YMMV.

*My bank adds a $5. 00 out of system ATM fee, which knocks the rate down to 3. 90:1, but still significantly lower than any other option.

I still use a credit card at hotels and restaurants because I don't have to pay foreign currency exchange fees, and I get that day's exchange rate. But at Termas I use cash to take advantage of a fairly significant discount.

I did my inaugural trip to Dolce Vita after 4 am on Sun. Morning. Cover is R50. Soda R10. Music seemed cool but I didn't focus completely on the DJ. Lots of nice garotas 25 to 40 yo. The place started thinning out at 4:30 which is nice because the venue is compact. A couple of garotas chit chatted with me. I really liked a dark haired chick in a beige long skirt. She quoted me R300 for 1+ HR. Considering I spent about the same as I would at Barabella's. They have an optional 10% tip. I doubt I return when I can see the same chicks on the street are at Mab's without the cover charge. On the corner is a strip club called Casa Blanca. The doorman from Houston said cover is R100. The chicks didn't look that hot when I passed. Apparently they close at 5 am where Dolce goes until 8 am.

Monte Carlo was amazing. With this being my first trip to Brazil, I was pleasantly surprised to see how the mongering scene is set up here. Monte Carlo had top shelf talent relative to what I can find in the states. Didn't feel pressured by the ladies or staff, though the door man did request a "chip" (tip) on the way out. Both times. All in, I highly recommend this place to newbies.

I wrote an extensive series of reports involving my travels throughout Brazil, and you don't have to look to hard to find them, as the trip was relatively recent. Everybody needs to RTFF please. I don't have the time to go over it all again.

I've narrowed my next trip down to Rio or Bogota, I loved Medellin but it's like three flights each way for me.

Really want to try Rio but I don't find the terma girls in my price range attractive, there's no point in spending the extra money going there over Colombia.

At 3 pm on Thursday they had around 7 garotas. Their uniform is tight white tights. I believe the options are 20,40, or 1 HR. I believe 40 minutes. Is R140.2 girls for 1 HR. May be R230. With much apprehension I decided to try Cancun for the 1st time last Tuesday. Anyway with Copa Termas out of my budget I decided to give Cancun a bash, if talent was week it would be the lose of an entire fee & a drink. Pleasantly surprised that entry was only are $80 & it was all for consumption. Arrived at 5.30 pm, talent was impressive before 7 pm it was off the hook. Are $400 for a hydro suite for an hour is hard to beat. Can't remember her name but she was OK, I pulled trigger too fast not her fault. Started chatting to a stunner about 20 minutes after I had finished my session, we chatted for close to 2 hours till she was free to leave at 10 pm where she came with me for some food & fun till 2. 30 am for are $500 plus Uber home. They have got a large influx from 4 x 4 I heard from a few girls.
