Since I've mentioned numerous times my first time in Rio was 1980 here is a pic of my 1980 Brazil Visa.

Thanks for posting that, Bob. Now remind me how much it costed back then? I recall at one point in the 80's it was $50 USD for American Citizens, which was a bit of cash for a young guy in and out of college at the lower end of the wage scale. I'd be curious, what was the price range of the girls back then.

This week I went through old Brazil photos, 1991-2018. Throwing away more or less one thousand of old photos (I hope the garbish guy don't open the plastic bags). It was a nice memory walk to sort out the best photos. What I noticed where the bushes and the bikinis, how they have changed during the years. In the nineties, slimmer girls, more natural tits, no silicone and bushes (I do prefer shaved or landing strips).

However, I noticed how Copacabana (and Brazil in general) have changed. Help, Meia Pataca, the quiosques and ho-beach have changed a lot.
I would rate:
1991-1996 as number 1 (the Golden days, tons of women everywhere in Copacabana)
1997-1998 as number 2 (the start of the cleaning up in Brazil in a small scale)
1999-2010 as number 3 (many brazilian mongering scenes getting killed, and many of the Copa-veterans leaving the sunking ship)
2010-2014 as number 4 (Copa mongering on the final stage)
2015-... as number 5 (the mongering scene in Rio being limited to Mabs, thermas, privés and trash)

I guess Brazil 1980-1991 might have been even better?

300 $? In 4 x 4? Loool gtfooh. I don't know which posts you've been reading but they're feeding you BS. Less than 100 $ US for an hour broski and who said Rio is dead? Yes if you're an uber gringo maybe but Rio got plenty to offer. A new club doesn't have to be located in Copa to work. Depends on the price range-sometimes cheaper produces more traffic. Considering there were a lot of hairy (not meaning small Chaplins) girls in Brazil 1991, how was in 1980? Big bushes?

I was staying at the Rio Palace which is now Sofitel in Copa, the Cafe next door Pigalle must have been 25 girls sitting there. I had no idea they were hookers, I told my friend something is up with this place all these beautiful girls are looking at us. The rest is history.

From 1980 to 1987 I went to Rio 35 times, I worked for Pan American airways at the time and flew everywhere. To be honest I had no idea about Military dictatorship, I was young and having a good time. Copacabana was packed with girls in every cafe, Franks bar, Barbarellas, Club Erotika etc. Help didn't open until 1984 but really wasn't a monger destination. I frequented places like Regines in the Meridian hotel, Crocodile in The Rio Othon Palace and Hippopotamus in Ipanema where Barronetti was. Girls were cheap and next day they would show up at your hotel to go out again, many times money wasn't even discussed but paid anyway just to set it straight.

Yes I'm back again, I tend to come back when I see the prices drop to see what the climate is in Rio.

It just depresses me to read and see its dead in Rio. I know, I know. Brothels and prives. But that's just not the true Rio.

With flights from Atl to Rio $748 round trip non-stop Delta I don't know if I can pass up on a trip even if the scene is not popping.

I know ill finally have to go to 4 x4,. Monta Carlo etc. To find some quality. But did I read correctly the one post the poster spent $300+ USA Dollers in 4 x4 for a hour or so?

Iis there any quality to be found in some of the other spots that have seen mentioned like Mariuzinn or the spot near Mabbs?

Reading some of the post for a club to work it has to be in the Copa area walking distance it has to be a large nice club, not just some hole in the wall place.

I've been visiting Brazil since the early 90's. It was amazing. A young, foreign guy could pursue pros, non-pros and civilians very easily. Civilians were actually happy to be seen with a tourist (ymmv). The stigma that set in over time increased year by year as more and more men discovered Rio thanks to the internet.

Five and a half years ago? I have sensed that you usually make a very positive impression wherever you go. Women seem quite taken by you, often eager to pay their own way and yours as well.
