There will always be a fascination with blondes. I've been going to Rio since 1980 and always enjoyed the escorts. I'm not a termas or privee type of guy, I've been to most of the termas and I still go but it's not my primary focus in Rio. I don't usually monger during the day so a trip to Centro is not something I would do. When I saw him later that day, he told me the entire story and I said "So you went thru all of that fighting with her, had to deal with the police and wasted hours of your time in the mall for 150 R? You could just have avoided all of that by giving her the 150 R and telling her that is the last money she will ever see from you!

So short answer, the police will get involved in your dealing with a prostitute. (We don't even need to discuss the dirty cops who want a pay off or the cops who are working with the girls to set up gringos.)

I had the same kind of problem in the past, I took a girl from Balcony to a motel few years ago, when she arrived she changed her mind, I did not pay anything, she called the cops, I explained myself to the cops.

My defense: I met that girl in a snack bar, I did not know she is a prostitute she never talked to me about the price when we arrived at the room, everything went well until she tried to steal my stuff when I was in the bathroom. 1) Learn and speak Portuguese properly.

2) Stay calm in that kind of situation.

3) Never say the truth, just say what is useful and good for you. So forget words that can cause harm to you and put you at fault.

Perhaps your friend could have coped with that situation if he had acted differently. It was a long time since HELP had stopped existing.

I Think your missing the key point. The Difference is your friend had sex with that girl, If you had sex with the girl then its a difference story. What I'm talking is if you bring a girl to your room and she demands payment up front or if she demands more money you can kick her out and the police cannot do anything. As long as no Sex service was given there is no way the police cannot do anything, Its Basic Law 101 or Common Sense.

Just like this scenario. Example, Lets say I took a No-Metered Cab, (Yellow cabs have meters) So We will use a No Meter private cab as a example. I take a cab from the airport to Copacabana and the cab driver tells me $R60 Reals, So I say OK and the cab driver takes me to Copacabana. After the cab ride he tells me $R100 Reals, Now I say no because he told me $R60 Real?, he says No he wants $R100, The Cab Driver can call the police, and tell them and make a complaint. And we can have problems, Now if I'm the typical gringo that does not speak Portuguese, 9 out of 10 times I'm going to have to pay $R100 or risk going to jail.

Lets use a 2nd scenario and the cab driver tells me $R60 and I tell him No and I did not get into his cab, There is no way he can call the police on me as I did NOT you use his service. Same thing with a girl, As long as you did not touch her or have sex with her, there is no way the police can do anything!.

So all was well until we get to my apartment and they wanted pay up front I explained I don't pay up front and all hell broke loose. But sir you promised. I will skip all the drama and say yes I broke my number rule I said ok I will show you the money and give you 50 r each and the rest when we finish. I am sure you know what happened next. Thanks for your report, I am glad that nothing bad happened. I used to have a buddy that I traveled a few times to rio with and he had a technique that might work for newbies reading this forum.

My buddy would always take a picture with the girl he was considering taking back to his room. It didn't matter if it was in Meia Pataca, the beach or club help. He would always ask one of us to take a picture of them together. One day we asked him why he did that he responded for 2 reasons.

1) If the girl won't take a picture with me in public, then I know she won't allow pictures in my apartment. So its best to just dismiss her right there and then. (no pics was a deal killer for him).

2) if the girl was runner, robber or gave bad service, he now had a picture of her that she can show to his friends to warn them.
