However, I don't understand how the government was able to discourage the beach scene at Posto 5. There were always many hot local girls available on the beach in the afternoon. The girls were always more discreet (with the exception of smiles and winks) than the guys. Typically, you could get a good price on a quick afternoon visit to your Copa apartment.

I think the decline of Hoe Beach can be based on 3 factors.

1) The dollar was in the toilet for a few years so many mongers started going to other countries where we got more bang for our bucks. Fewer mongers in Copa meant that many of the girls were starving for reais and had to look elsewhere for work. Europe / getting married to their favorite client and hightailing it to America, etc.

2) The price of rent went sky high in Copa after Brasil won the World Cup and the Olympics. The girls were already staying 4 -5 deep in one bedroom apartments, but with the prices increasing, they couldn't afford to stay in Copa any longer.

3) Help closing and the policy changes in Meia Pataca was the nail in the coffin. Girls arent going to take the bus 2-3 hours from their favela to copa on the chance that they might make some money on Hoe Beach. Too far, too much money and too much time wasted if they don't land a client. In addition, after MP spent alot of money renovating the spot, they changed their policy with the girls. No longer could they sit in the restaurant for hours nursing a single beer! The waiters were pressuring them to spend more money or else they had to leave.

The last 3 trips I took to Rio, I doubt if I saw more than 2 GDPs working hoe beach, it was depressing. It was all european guys and some families sitting where dozens of GDPs used to be.

I came across and read your post. I had 2 trips to Rio in 2000 and I can't believe it has been 17 years now. Took a few very memorable girls out of HELP and really had a blast in the Termas and just exploring the city. From your comment it must be completely different now which is too bad as I have been wanting to get back to Rio for 17 years now but too many other destination (like my month in the Philippines where I just returned from).

The Rio government has been successful in the fight to push prostitution under the radar. Copacabana is no longer ground zero for action. Without easy congregation points like Help and elsewhere in Copa, many mongers seem to have lost interest. I also think more hotties hightail it to Europe. The action is also more expensive than the period between the late 90's-mid 2000's. I'm not sure about high airfares. They were extremely cheap offseason in the early 2000's, but Avianca offers deals today. I'm not sure why the major USA Airlines keep fares to Brazil so high.

Frankly, the scene was getting quite ridiculous in the 2000's. It wasn't just the circus outside Help at night. Some indiscreet mongers would sit in cafes in the afternoon and have graphic conversations with the girls. I'm sure this didn't go without notice by the authorities. The reason why MABS is pretty much dead, because there is not enough gringo clientele. Even the so called new Help spot never pop because there is very few gringos that fly to Brazil, its not like the later 90's, early 2000's. That is my observation.

The Action is pretty much in the Termas, and the Termas are pretty much alive because local Brazilian men go there still to chill, relax and have a quick nut before they go home to the wife.

Maybe when Brazil flights and overall cost comes down, you will see more freelance spots like Mabs, pop with better talent.

This is very strange and very concerning. There were always plenty of brancas from Rio and the suburbs in the top termas. There were also a few from Minas Gerais, the South and elsewhere. I never went into a terma with a type of girl in mind, but it was nice to know there would be a lot of variety.

This young woman was a Centaurus girl who I invited back to my apartment a few years back. I consider her branca. She had a pretty Italian / Spanish look. She also had nice BC cup breasts. When she got up to walk to the bathroom, I admired her hourglass figure. She was from Brasilia. I wish I asked her to take her thong off. When I'm taking photos, I'm shy about taking lots of shots.

Generally Solarium has 1 token black girl and the rest in stages of caucasian to mulatta. Now obviousliy you're pulling from a Rio gene pool (vs. SP or the south as you note) but it's got to be the "whitest" terma I know off hand. You just won't get the value you've been finding in some of the other joints.

That's why I don't really like termas in zona sul, they are not good performers, it is more about money, the less you pay, the more you enjoy with the girl, the only terma I really like is Cancun, they are stricter to girls and better organized. It is more laid back, girls are not aggressive and most girls are educated. I've never had any bad experience in this terma, finally I ll try this terma today.

I was in Sao Paulo in my last trip for almost 2 weeks, I went to few high end clubs, I found many European Brazilians, I paid like 500,600 reais all night, there was a girl that did not charge me for another night. Sao Paulo is the best city if you want to find any kind of woman, the problem is it is very expensive to travel from a club to another club because it is not like Rio or every brothel is close to your place. , You always need to pay expensive to enter a club, spend more money on taxi, pay to take the girl out or pay the room separate, that's why nothing will be like Rio De Janeiro in the past. There are also many clinicas in Sao Paulo, I am not into clinicas, many girls are not good looking or you can not chill and talk to the lady before going to the room, that's why I prefer clubs and termas over prives.

About the city, I prefer Rio de Janeiro, About girl quality I prefer Sao Paulo. Maybe the good time in Rio de Janeiro will come back. I don't think less tourists, more and more locals have no money.

Correct-the girls there don't really go hard in the quarto cause the crowd is rich and not as cost-conscious as the blue collar Centro tier 2/3/ trash crowd who expect the girl to really go in for their hard earned reais and if theyre gonna part with it,the meninas better earn it.

Hence why I prefer mostly all brazilian spots cause I want to be f*cked like they f*ck those dudes-and they do in majority of cases try very hard. Pay less for more?

This is an interesting observation indeed since on my previous trips to Rio, and as my photos will prove, I had no problems finding brancas at all of the establishments I visited. Well, maybe things have changed. All I can say is just wait a while. Nothing stays the same. Oh, and as Cartman says, go to Solarium LOL! Or to Sampa. Happy hunting!

I'll go back to Sampa for sure so that I can session with real European Brazilians, today I sessioned with a white Portuguese looking girl I sessioned with in 4 por 4, 5 months ago, she now works in a trash club because of the crisis, because there are less clients in the termas. I arrived at Playground at 7 pm, opened at 5 pm today instead of 12 pm. Because no girl came.

There was only one girl, it was very dead so I preferred to leave and not to waste my money with entrance and my time.

New in Playground, you need any flyer if you don't want to pay entrance, if not you have pay minimum 20 reais for consumption and 20 reais for entrance. Altogether 40 reais. The 20 reais consumption is compulsory with or without flyer. Fortunately I have 60 flyers in my place. I think I ll throw those flyers away because they will be useless to me, Playground is always dead, Thursday and Friday night, there were only 8 girls.

They have the best infrastructure but unfortunately they don't have girls.

Termas Rio Antigo used to be on this same street at #2. I wonder if this is the same space or part of the same space? It was partially owned (if not 100%) by the guys who own 4 x4. Will poke around on the BR boards if I have time to try to find more info.

Rio Antigo, I never went there in the past so I can't tell you if the spaces are the same. What I know there are between 10 and 15 available girls in this terma. It depends on the day. I did not sessioned there I just visited.
