I have tried them all. I have got something out of all of them. My recommendation for the hobbyist is Semantica Portuguese. It teaches the language and the culture. How about finding out what regular clubs most GDP's hang out at when they go out with friends, us gringos pick a club and make that club the club we go to when we come to Rio. It will take some time but over time the word will get out, this is where the gringos come to party. "If we build it, they will come". Again we can't keep waiting for someone to do something when we can do it ourselves.

I have been around the world and Brazilian women offer the best GFE out of all the countries I have been too. The mongering scene as far as Gringos go is kinda dead. Its not like the late 90's and early 2000's. I went last year and Gringo spots like Mabs are pretty much dead. Not a lot of gringos come to Brazil like before because Brazil is much more expensive, so the women are not going to come out like that. Only the hardcore ones. All the action is in the Termas like the 4 x 4.

As far as Non-Pros go, you can go to regular Brazilian hangout club spots but Portuguese is a must and also regular girls do not want to be seen in public with a gringo because most people would assume she is a prostitute.

Been there done that several times. No problems at all. At least not in the last 19 years. But Brasil is Brasil and they may have changed since the World Cup and Olympics.

I am a Rio regular and love the city and benefits. You should be aware that all accommodation is at very inflated rates around NYE, so be prepared to pay up if you go to Rio. Having said that Rio at NYE is very impressive.

For mongering you will find that many venues will be closed for at least part of your stay if you go around NYE.
