All media over the world is bashing Brazil right now. Corruption, unsafe, crime rate, pollution, Zika etc. I've no doubt that even though there are many problems i Rio the Olympic Games will be spectacular and memorable.

It seems like very few of the current Rio reports are made by guys who actually are in Rio. Anybody in Rio right now who can tell how the Leme-Copacabana beach looks like? What I heard it's looking like a giant construction yard with many large areas fenced off.

I just got back and can say pretty disappointed with the progress. In my mind all this construction should have been done on schedule since most are prefabricated structures that just need setting up like tents, bleachers etc. If I was attending any of these spectator events at the beach I would be weary of stability just because of rush job.

Good luck to the GPs in Vila Mimosa. Normally the brazilians raise their prices when business is going badly, because that way they earn more... It seems like there are some smart GPs in VM who will offer promoes.

Street crime is definitely up in Copa and zona sul. The police aren't getting paid so Tijuca, centro, and the entirety of zona norte are seeing significant upticks in violent crime. However, there is still significant police presence in Copa, Ipanema, Leblon and Barra as these are the neighborhoods where the Olympic oriented expats are living (marketing heads for the major corporations, the broadcasters, and the key personnel of the IOC).

Copa beach is a large construction zone. The beach volleyball stadium is getting built almost right at the end of Princesa Isabel, and it looks terrifying. The whole thing is scaffolding type metal without the larger steel supports. Looks like it's made out of toothpicks. I'm no structural engineer, but I'm not sure how 15,000 people are supposed to walk around on that temporary structure without it falling down. Fortunately, my beach volleyball tickets are for the semi-finals, so if there's a disaster it should have happened by then.

The also built it too close to the water, and with the stormy seas we've had of late, they've had to erect a wall in front by the water's edge to prevent water from getting to the steel and cable areas.

They are also putting up large white tents everywhere as temporary broadcast areas and have a huge one in front of the copa palace which is the main Olympic merchandise center. Tents are getting put up all around the Lagoa, by Leme, and everywhere around the Maracana. I haven't been to Barra in a while, but I assume it's a bit worse out there as the majority of the events and the village are all out that way.

The locals have little to no interest in the Olympics and the economy seems to look worse everyday. Several contractors haven't been paid, the police haven't received their overtime pay for over 6 months, and the fire department is on strike for similar reasons. I've been to a few Olympics, and I was in Rio for the World Cup, and I've never seen anything like this. Fingers crossed everything goes well, but the potential for disaster is very high.

You don't have to go to Mabs until 12 midnight or even 1 am.

I was actually there at 9 pm (a Sunday). Slim pickings. It was painfully obvious the time was all wrong.

I had to wait around for an hour before Barbarella opened, which had a better crop. It was not spectacular, at least not around 10.30 pm. I ended up leaving with one Juliana. 0 m+(short, fair-skinned brunette, with silicon tits and hourglass figure). She asked for 600 are. I got her down to 375. GFE, BBBJ, but no CIM, just COF, even though we had agreed to CIM. She's not trustworthy, and she was not as loosed and relaxed as other girls. I do not recommend.

I also very briefly visited Sensoo Club (on Princess Isabela side of the Mabs block) while waiting for Barbarella to open. No cover charge, but exorbitantly priced drinks (didn't buy any), 0 stunners, and just a couple of 7's. About 8 meninas in total.

BTW, have any of you stayed at the Ibis budget in Centro? How small are the room? Is it girl friendly line the Copa ones? I think I can have a max of 3 people in the room, myself included, but the website is not totally clear. Can I bring 2 girls? Is there biggest room even big enough to properly host a dupla session?

Those "girls" who tried to take your wallet were likely "chicks with dicks". I know it may seem hard to believe- because they are extremely feminine and attractive but this is likely the case. Same exact thing happened to me- Same place. The way they try and pickpocket is distract you by the sexual advances (so your thinking wow these chicks are really digging me" and lower your guard).

Something similar happened to me. What I thought was a nice looking chick turned out to be a 19 years old transvestite at my apt. I have already paid him 200 which he refused to give back. I told him that I'm not gay nor I have any interest in sleeping with TV's. This 19 years old TV grabbed my box of Pringles and left. You have to screen properly.

A word of caution though. Three street girls tried to pickpocket me late at night on Avenida Nossa Senhora. As I crossed the street they blocked my way. Began to grab on me and make sexual advances. When I declined they continued to grab tightly. As I pulled away I could feel on dig into my pocket and attempt to take my phone. So I overpowered the other one grabbing my arm and grabbed the wrist of the one girl whose hand was in my pocket. I almost broke her wrist. She screamed in pain. My phone was halfway out of my pocked and in her hand. I snatched the phone back. I looked around for a policeman to notify but there were only taxis. The gall of these women. I shouted obscenities at them as they all dispersed in different directions. I never understood how pick-pocketing could work. How can someone not feel something being removed from their pockets? I mean I clearly felt something being taken out of my pocket. Maybe she was a trainee IDK. So just be careful people. I'the been out by myself at night before with no problem. But I guess I looked like a mark on that night. Is it irony that the "safe" Copacabana is where a potential crime occurred whereas the "dangerous" VM is where I felt incredibly safe? Irony or just coincidence? Or maybe neither. Whatever.

When are girls from all over the country beginning to trickle in for the Olympics? I was at Monte Carlo yesterday (Rio report to come) and my provider said that very many girls are expected by the weekend of the 14th. Any truth to this? Is the influx of talent expected to be epic?

Also, I'm thinking of going to either Mabs or Barbarella tonight. What are good times to go? Which one would you recommend if you had to go to just one? Tonight might be my last, unfortunately.

They will start tto filter into Rio in the next two weeks. Many GDPS are betting the farm that they will score big money during the games, enought to lat them until summer. I know a lot of females who put off their winter migrations to Europe because they are confident that euros will be raining from the sky in August!

I'll be back in Brazil for my annual work stint next week and will make a passes through Rio. First pass through will be short and it will most likely be a couple of prive visits. I've found a few recent recommendations on gpguia and hot forum, but if anyone has any recommendations of top performers from recent weeks, a note here or a PM would be greatly appreciated. I think I will have to go to Monte Carlo. Centauras is closed now and maybe the other one like Solarium but I wouldn't really want to try 4 x 4. Should be a great time. I might pay for Barbarelles and then try something like Frank's or another bar. Plenty of options but I'll only be there for 3 nights and 4 days. Maybe 4 or 5 girls and 1 threesome.

MC will smash more than most during run up to and during Olympics due to its location-for sure go there and even if Centaurus reopens soon it doesn't automatically mean girls will flock back there-depends on how theyre doing where they are and also it will take a second to get up to speed if Centaurus changes name etc.

I was told it opens at 10 pm and it gets busy around 11.30 pm. My game plan is to go to Mabs first at 11 pm and spend 10 to 15 minutes to see if can find a hottie for the night. The asking price is between 200 to 300 at Mabs. If it doesn't work out, than I am heading to Barbarellas around 11.30 pm and spending up to one hour there. The entrance at Barbarellas is 90 and the asking price is between 400 to 600. Unfortunately, these are the only 2 options on Sundays.

Girls will start to trickle into MC and Rio in general from all over Brazil during mid to end July to catch the early birds who like me come down very early -a month before-and to get set up and find a terma if they haven't already and.

Many newbies will come-some girls who have never been in termas before will come due to prospect of quick money and alot of it. Theyll be up for maximizing trips so per noites, outside visits, hotel stays etc -anything goes as long as the clock's ticking and the reais are coming their way.
