So this might be of interest to some of the more adventurous ones.
I decided to bring a hot 18 yr old ex GDP (1 month in biz) overseas to hang with me for couple weeks. I had met her in Rio a few months back.
Of course she got stopped in immigration (Europe) and held there as she speaks zero Ingles. A call solved that.
Had a few weeks off and there was a roundtrip flight for 750 $ so that was great.
Now we are getting into Patmarbeleza territory of economics. !LOL.
Sex for 4 hours a day or more and as much as you can take. Price: food ,airfare, some souvenirs and drinks. This could run up as well.
ID say the whole thing probably cost me a bit more than what it would to visit a terma once a day including drinks but then i didnt have to pay for accomodation there-
Can be recommended if it is impossible to get down to Rio for a bit of variation!.
Bring Rio home.Was fun.

Will the Olympics be any different? Who knows? Brazil can't even decide which politician is the most corrupt.

Olympics will include a Sexathlon discipline this year starring 20,000 GDPs with weaves and "I love Gringo $" t-shirts on.
Lucky bastards who are down there for it this time. World Cup was amazing-mad buzz in the city and girls were there in abundance.

The Olympics will be a lot of fun. While the logistics may be a disaster, and the venues and site concessions well below the standard of previous games, Brazilians throw a good party. And while the initial estimates of 1. 6 million visitors will more likely turn into 600 k-1 m, depending on a variety of factors, that's a lot of people descending on one city. You can expect Mabs and every other spot in Copa to be rammed every night as girls from all over the country try to make some USD / Euros.
You will have a great time as the city will really be hopping.
The World Cup was fun, and I'd expect the Olympics to be much better as the entire event is concentrated in Rio.

Doesn't actually even start to get going until about 1 am and closes between 8 am and noon the next day depending on how things are going.

The PE guys attempted to use the cash flow from the big churrascarias to fund a spin off entity called Porcao Gourmet, which offered a more US style steak house experience and no Rodizio. They opened locations in Barra and in the Jockey Club, but they failed miserably dragging down the entire chain. They're currently in the Brazilian version of chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, so don't hold your breath that they'll reopen any time soon.

Posts: 289Overall, Rio is still a good deal if you hit the right spots, especially with the current exchange rate. Unfortunately for some, it's not the point and click type of place like it was in the Help, MP and ho beach days. If you are still stuck on the way it was back in the days, you will have a hard time there. Do your research and have a plan. Back in the days, even if you came in blind, you could always run into cool guys you could hang with and check out the different spots. These days there isn't as many old vets going down (at least not in Copa), so you are on your own mostly. Anyways, nothing new in this report, that haven't been said before, just my 2 cents.
Thanks for posting your great reviews. Times change and new opportunities appear elsewhere. With or without Help discoteca Rio will always be unique but it still makes one sentimental for those old times!

Posts: 1026Google Earth. Kmz or. Kml files with mongering locations?
Can anyone point me to any Google Earth layer files with points of interest indicated? I was going to make one myself, but thought I'd check with the masses first to see if one was already in existence.
I thought I remembered being pointed to one back in 2009, but I can't remember.
Thanks!

That is a nice report, Everything sounds the same Like when I went last year. Don't worry guys Brazil will return to the glory days after the Olympics. I think middle 2017 will be the rebirth. Brazil is only getting worst every day. The new acting president.
Is a right winger and wants to cut all social programs to please the rich investment elite Class. Everything is getting gutted, so your going to see a lot of people in the street, hungry GDP everywhere by 2017 mark my words.
