Wait, I thought Vascaínos were the bad asses of Rio. Don't we want to be bad asses? Or was that the Nação Rubro-Negra? I always get this mixed up.

The Brazilian Real weakened significantly leading up to Lula's election in October 2002. It hit a low weeks before the election. It strengthened almost nonstop after the 2002 election.

My point is that it's hard to predict how the currency market will react to events. Lula's chances are already priced in and the market often overreacts in advance of an event. Hence, the adage "buy on the rumor, sell on the news".

I agree with you a contested election would be bad for the Real in the short-run. On the other hand, a peaceful transition might be good for the Brazilian Real.

    Possible BRL weakness

My suspicion is that a Lula win would knock USD / BRL up to 6, and a Bolsonaro contested result (Jan 6 style) up to 6. 3 leveling off back to support at 6.

    Popcorn ready.

I would refrain from cussing in a foreign language until my command is sufficient to hold a meaningful conversation, at least. For one thing, it ain't satisfying.

That said, Caralho is fine. It has a nice ring to it. Caralho! Just can't go wrong, kkkk.

Hope this PDF helps with the "dirty words" portion of your question.

Currently, I cannot find the "dirty phrases" booklet, I thought I had. Anyways, I'll check again!

    Brazilian phrases and words

I've been practicing my Porto but unfortunately duolingo and Pimsleur don't give you common terms for CIM or BBFS.

Anyone have the list of terms for stuff like that in Portuguese.

    Please PM.

    Thanks!

It is not exactly great cinema, but they are good for laughs in between sessions, especially after we have had a smoke. She also likes "Better Call Saul" and "Ozark" although those two are heavier stuff. She gets off on the Ruth Langmore character in "Ozark."
Wow she has great taste in tv.

Better call Saul ended pretty good (he defected through a SUNROOF!

Ozark not so much unfortunately although I understand her affinity with the Ruth langmore character.

Something about a curly haired foul mouth trailer park punk really does something for me too.

Lots of great characters on that show but that ending was a real stinker.

Assassination Attempt on VP of Argentina...Where's my Flak jacket?

A Brazil nationalist, is the key person of interest (POI), in an assassination attempt, on the life of the Vice President of Argentina, Cristina Fernndez de Kirchner.

    https://g1.globo.com/sp/sao-paulo/no...do-de-sp.ghtml

    https://www.staradvertiser.com/2022/...ils-argentina/

The gunman was identified as Fernando Andr Sabag Montiel, a 35-year-old street vendor and Brazilian citizen who has lived in Argentina since 1998 and had no criminal record, authorities said. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The POI, was reported as having Nazi tattoos, but not yet identified with any political affiliations.

Ex-Pres. Lula and Pres. Bozo, better have their flak jackets, ready-to-go! Some bulletproof glass, wouldn't hurt either.
