    1st trip to Brazil Questions

    Hi team,

I've been going to Medellin every few months for the past 8 years.

    I speak Spanish pretty fluently.

Kind of tempted to go to Brazil.

I speak no Portuguese. And not nothing about Brazil other than what I can read here.

I can get decent prices on flights to Sao Paulo. Not sure what's better for mongering there or Rio or?

I want some Brazilian hotties but haven't gone there mainly for fears about language- especially since I speak Spanish so Colombia is easy for me.

Thoughts on ease of mongering compared to Colombia for a not Portuguese speaker. Thoughts on prices for girls compared to Medellin. Thoughts on safety and lodging prices also appreciated.

    Anyone want to over advice?

Stick with what I know--or go for it to Brazil?

3 Tonelada$: Assalto ao Banco Central

3 Tonelada$: Assalto ao Banco Central (aka. The Great Robbery of Brazil's Central Bank)

August 2005. A burglary in the Central Bank, located in Fortaleza, Ceará, takes out approximately 165 million reais from the bank's safe, or around 3 tons and a half of used and untraceable 50-real bills. A spectacular crime that was performed with the help of an underground tunnel of almost 80 meters in length, at first leaving no witnesses and no evidence.

New Brazilian documentary series, just dropped on Netflix. Look interesting, if you love a good heist and this one was epic by all accounts. And in Fortaleza of all places.

I'm going to guess this was late 2002/ early 2003 with the run-up to Lula's election and after. The global market was scared by him.

These prices were likely when the Real initially depreciated in the summer and internal prices had not adjusted to the currency shock. As far as Help that seems a bit low, but Help prices were all over the board. It depended on how hot the girl was and what time in the night. You could pick-up some hotties before closing time at a discount, but many times they were returning for a second go of it.

From memory, in the spring of 2003 I remember a couple Mineira bombshells asking for 250 reais each in the cafe outside Help. My buddy and I took them back to our shared apartment because they were fine and seemed determined not to leave separately. It worked out great. Making the girls comfortable led to a party atmosphere.

I'm guessing the war in the Ukraine is scaring people into the safety of the dollar. However, the war pushed oil prices higher and that's pushing up the currencies of oil producing countries.

Regarding exchange rates. I recall once in the mid nineties that the Brazilian real was stronger than the dollar. 1 real cost 1,05 dollar.

I remember my last night in Rio I paid 35 reais for a TLN with a Help girl.

The money was 3.89 to 1 and 1 chick at 4x4 was 150 reais.

I think you adjust the subject. People will travel. There are plenty of places to go. For that reason, the exchange rate is not a problem for most.

This is exactly what I used to pay. 100 reais at Help was for all night. A few of the hardcore Help girls would try to hit newbies for $100 usd but I never fell for that shit.

Ok, really a US $70 Caipirinha?? LOL, I don't think so. (But maybe given the Cachaca being used) Either way I have had rare $$$ Scotch and Bourbon, so an expensive drink doesn't bother me at all. The sky is falling at 1:1 is not true, pricing adjusts. Pricing is not going to rise in Brazil where goods and services will be too expensive for the average Brazilian (unless there is some unforeseen financial shock to the country). Also, at the time it was 1:1 I did not see anyone complaining accept Americans but on the ground, life was normal in Brazil, and I was not hearing Brazilians complain and to me all pricing was reasonable. Only time I saw price increases was during carnival (which happens all the time) and that was temporary.

Everybody's pockets are different, so if exchange rates prevent one for traveling well ............. not my problem.

I don't know why you guys are so obsessed with numbers

I've been coming to Brazil for 20 years. Brazilians normally do a great job adjusting their retail prices no matter what the course is. If the prices seem to be on the rise, that's post-pandemic boom more than anything. I'm trying to remember what the average price of pussy was in 2000's and I can't, which means it was never outrageous outside of Centaurus.
