So how far is it to the beaches from Sao Paulo? I will be going for a week and I think I will be getting bored with the city after a few days and maybe take a girl to the beach for a night or two.

Santos and São Vicente are the nearest beaches. But also very polluted. Best is get a girl in São Paulo and rent a car or take a bus to Guarujá.

About 10 years ago, I was planning a trip to Thailand and I did a ton shit of research on Bangkok. But at the last moment I decided to go to Rio instead because I didn't want to endure the long flight all the way to Asia (later I learned the flight from US to Brasil was almost as long as the flight to Thailand). This turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. I have been coming to Brasil ever since.

A couple years ago, I was in Asia on a personal trip and so I decided to do a short hop over to Thailand for 2 weeks. I split my time between Pattaya and Bangkok. Damn was I disappointed. The Thais couldn't hold a candle to the Brasileiras in terms of both service and look. But I must say, I think every heterosexual male should experience Pattaya at least once in their lifetime. That one street probably has more concentration of prostitutes than any where else in the world. The only place I've visited that comes close is Fields Ave in Angeles City.

That's why I prefer going to the beaches of So Paulo, beaches like Guaruj, Maresias and Ilhabela are much cleaner them the ones in Rio.

There are many clean beaches in Rio de Janeiro. (cabo frio and many other beaches outside the city of Rio de Janeiro). There are nice and clean beaches in Barra and Recreio. I agree with you, beaches in Sao Paulo are clean but not better, they are just different. I also like beaches in Sao Paulo. Most foreigners don't know anything about Brazil, they just stick to zona sul and and think all brazilian beaches are dirty.

When people talk about the beaches in Rio de Janeiro, they talk about zona sul. Rio de Janeiro is a big city and a big state. There are many interesting places. Rio de Janeiro or Brazil is not limited to touristic places (zona sul).

On one of my first visits to Rio, Bobby, from Blame It On Rio, was showing me an apartment. The apartment owner's agent happened to be there also and pulled my Brazilian girlfriend aside and told her that we could save money by renting directly from her. When my girlfriend relayed this information to me I told her tell the woman no thanks, I wasn't going to go around Bobby, we would pay whatever he charged.

Over the years, former employees, vendors and customers have lost literally millions of dollars by thinking they were getting over or fooling the system. Sometimes they knew (like when they got fired). Other times, they didn't, like when they decided to play games on a small contract not knowing that a much larger one was coming up. I even have had the unpleasant task (not really) of telling customers that we did not want their business. Then again, maybe it is just me.

I am currently traveling in Brazil inter city with Uber at very low price using some tricks. For example I took a ride from Natal Ponta negra to João Pessoa. Door to Door to the hotel for 200 RS for 184 km distance. How?

I ordered Uber to a fake nearby destination then Cancel the trip withing 2 minute or when the driver already reach to me. From Natal Natal Ponta negra to João Pessoa Uber trip simulation show me 550 RS. I ask the driver how much he want to the real destination and tell him to forget about the fake destination. I told him we are not going to use Uber App so avoiding Uber commission. The driver in that example offer 250 RS instead of 550 RS when using Uber App. Then we settled for 220 RS. So I leave my hotel Door and reach my hotel in other city.

I Did the same trick From João Pessoa to Recife.

Now, I also know how to Avoid ATM redraw fee of 25 RS. Thats next post if anyone interested.
