I must have given the wrong impression. While Sean made the introductions, I made the choices and, while I might wish that parts of the experience were a bit different, I very much enjoyed the time I spent with both girls and am not at all unhappy about either experience. For some people, a GFE means DFK and BBBJ. For me, a GFE is more about developing a memorable relationship.
There's lots of good (and bad) advice on WSG and I read it all when planning my trip. But I aways figure that if I'm paying somebody for advice, the sensible thing to do is to follow that advice. Sean was always open to discussing the reasons behind his recommendations and I always felt it was my decision in the end.
Like I'd said, guides are not for everyone and for every situation but, since I could afford it, it seemed like a pretty good choice for a non-Portuguese speaker making his first trip to Sao Paulo.

It is all true. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights are best in Sao Paulo for the clubs.

Posts: 348Bomboa's on a Weds or Thur's night could have more then 75 girls for your viewing pleasure. Sometimes its overkill because you loose track of them. So many rooms so little time!!!!!
You pick one and then a better shows up around the corner. God I hate when that happens. Then I have to book a back to back appt. Those are the worst nights of all.

Posts: 44After reading the message board, the names of the best places are Cafe Photo, Bahamas, Love Story, Kilt, etc.
My question is: How many girls there are in those nightclubs? I've read that in Cafe Photo there are about 100 girls! If it's true, such quantity of girls is really fantastic.
Obrigado

Posts: 4I'll be making my first visit to Sao Paulo January 11-17, staying at the Blue Tree Towers Paulista. If there is anyone who is going to be in SP during that period, I'd enjoy getting together for a drink and perhaps some joint sightseeing.

First of all Happy Holidays!
Secondly, just as an FYI, I wanted to bring two websites to your attention:
http://www.sci.fi/~huuhilo/portuguese/
http://www.sonia-portuguese.com/
These sites will help you beginners with some basic Portuguese skills. I am on my way to being fluent in Portuguese and I still use both sites as reference guides. I am using them also to teach a friend of mine.
Also, EasyGo I don't know if it was really worth getting the guide. I guess for the money you spent for him, it wasn't too bad, but it seems like he steered you in the wrong direction in terms of the girls he picked for you. Maybe next time you get the guide to take you to places, but you tell him where you wanna go based on the recomendations of this wonderful group of mongers. I haven't had too many non GFE experiences in SP. I'm surprised that you had so many on one trip.
Well, I might have a business trip to SP in late Jan/esrly Feb, so hopefully I'll see some of you there.
Peace
BB

I totally agree with what you said about Sao Paulo.
Even if you live here, the amount of treasures to be explored are too many.
Merry Christmas to all and a Great 2004.

BTW, for those interested by regular nightlife, there's a long review in the brasilian Playboy site this month on Sampa's happy hours spots, nightclubs and after hours places, for each part of the city (Moema, V Mariana, Pinheros, Itaim, Jardims, ect...) ;

Thanks for the nice words. We had a great time.
The Kilt is always a fun place, and the girls are always pleasant. If nothing is to your liking there, there are about 10 clubs within a five minute walk.
Hope to see you in February.
Merry Christmas to everyone, and have a great year in 2004.
Enjoy the life,

$240.00 is not bad at all, especially considering you have 72 hours and the city is total stranger to you. In fact, using the guide was right and smart decision for you to effectively achieve your objectives.
Over many trips to SP I have not needed to use public transportation or map to find these lovely places due to local friend or staff. If I ever needed transportation, I would even use the services if they are available at my finger tip for convenience.
To all fellow mongers,
Happy Holidays and wish prosperous upcoming new year!
