If we fall sick, are the local hospitals good?

There are really good hospitals in SP, like Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, which is one of the best in South America. I went there in March 2020 (beginning of the pandemic and nobody knew much about the disease), for a Covid test and when they heard my insurance will pay for it, they did many blood tests, scanned my chest (picture) etc. I spent 4-5 hours there, met two doctors and many good looking young nurses and they even gave me a modest lunch. I liked the hospital so much that I told my family that I'm going to spend my next holidays there. If the omicron spreads, the problem could be that they don't find a hospital bed for you, if needed. The final bill they sent to my insurance company was 1094 euros.

My one nod to Brazilian girls and their body type since I began visiting Brazil last year is that I now like TALL, slender girls as well. But I will never get into big bundas. Just not my thing.

I was flying back to Sao Paulo and presented my UBS Vaccination certificate at the United ticket counter and explained that I live in Brazil. The woman said, "Your Spanish must be really good!" Couldn't wait to get on that plane and get TF out of the USA!

Yeah, this captures the feeling perfectly. I can't wait until my 3rd visit coming up in April.

I believe the infection rate now is climbing, according to Reuters this morning it is at 42% of its previous peak. A couple of people I know who live in Porto Alegre and So Paulo have asked me to delay my trip as hospitals are full. It seems it is the aftermath of all the partying from the Christmas and New Year celebration. I am on the fence about my upcoming trip, my big concern is not getting omicron as I am fully vaccinated but getting stuck for 10 days and being forced to quarantine.

Is it very very crowded with people, that there is no social distance with the other patron / men.

Is it purely a gutt / boldness we have to do our business that the girl doesn't have covid to pass?

Too stressed.

Brazil was my heaven and now for 18 month, nothing.

COVID cases are sharply arising again in Brazil as in the rest of the world presumably due to omicron. My guess it's a few weeks behind the US. São Paulo as a city has been very good in masking and vaccination. I don't remember temp check or vaccination checks in Scandallo with no social distancing nor mask wearing. It's a sex club which tends to attract people who are not risk averse. Each person has to judge what risk they are going to take. Being vaccinated with booster, your chance of needing hospitalization or dying is very very low with omicron. There is a greater chance of testing positive and unwanted being stuck in Brazil. Private hospitals in SP are really good. Albert Einstein Israelite hospital is the best hospital south of the US.

Also, to make it easier for myself, I'll be activating GoogleFi for the trip. Anyone have experience with GoogleFi in Brazil? Can't imagine it causing any issues.

Just landed and in SP until the 30th. Google Fi works great here, LTE no problem. I wonder if getting a local number makes freelancers easier to nail down.

Photocopy your vax card and take it when you go out. I was surprised to be asked at a few spots for this. Can't remember if they did at Scandallo on one of my visits, but several places in SP and Rio wanted to see it. I distinctly remember Uphouse in Lapa requiring it (Rio).

Also if the on-site is busy there are love hotels nearby. When I went there was a line for the rooms and my girl said let's go and we checked out (very small checkout fee) and walked just a block or two to a love motel. So that's an option too.

I also didn't mind waiting for the room with my girl sitting in the bench. Consider it extended couch time. It reminded me of the fine memory of waiting for an upstairs room at FKK Sharks. At Casarão, it was a little surreal since there is a ticket counter to let you know your room is ready like queuing up at the supermarket. Kkkk. Your number is on the receipt you get after paying for the room. You can also get drinks from the cashier guy.

Casarao is in a dicey neighborhood. There is no risk taking Uber there and back, but as Sama suggests either text for an Uber inside the Boate or very close to the building and keep your eyes open outside at all times.

One night I took Paula Revista, one of my favorite girls, to Terraco Italy, a very good Italian restaurant located on the top floor of some office building slightly to the NE of Casarao. After dinner I texted for an Uber ride while we were still inside the restaurant because I like to cut down on my wait time. Then we took the elevator down to ground floor. I was about to walk out onto the street until Paula cautioned that it was not safe to wait outside the building. The street was well lit and there were plenty of people around. I saw no danger, but I listened to Paula anyway and we waited inside the lobby until our driver showed up. On our way back to the Renaissance Paula pointed out another block where she said it was very dangerous and a lot of crackheads. All in all I enjoyed the tour. LOL and I would take another girl or Paula to Terraco Italy again, no problemo. It was an elegant restaurant with great views of the city, and the food was good, but I will continue heed her warning too. BTW, Paula is no shrinking violet. She is a Paulista and a savy FL hooker for a number of years. She was also on the cover of Revista Sexy in 2019.

I've used GoogleFi on my last 2 trips without issues. I think unless you are planning to stay awhile this is a better option than dealing with SIM card issues while on the ground. If you have a dual sim phone you can just use GoogleFi as your backup plan. I only carried one phone in my last trip and that's what I did. Just watch your surroundings while pulling your phone in the street.

Google map saysit is permanently closed. There are a few good restaurants didn't survive the pandemic.

This is the steak I had in Scandallo in November. It wasn't the best or the biggest steak I had in SP, but it was very good. I don't know why the site rotates my photo.

I think what the OP meant was that it is overpriced for what you get but everything there is overpriced based on the same logic. I think the food is pretty good too.

.... However, when I receive incoming messages in Portugese, I still have to copy the messages and paste them in Google Translate. Did you find a way for G-board to translate the incoming messages within WhatsApp too?

If it's your first time in Brazil, you have to go to a rodizio. I prefer a whole steak on my plate, but it's fun, specially if you are with someone. I recommend Vento Haragano. First photo.

If you want to have a good steak, go to Corrientes 348. There is one in Jardins. I prefer the one in Vila Olimpia, but the food is the same and it's close to your hotel. Second photo.

Nordico, I believe Vento Haragano has been permanently closed. I tend to eat too much at the Churrascarias and not all cuts are to my preference. That said, they can be fun on an empty stomach and with a girl you just made love. There is a great one in RJ called Mocellin Av. Armando Lombardi, 1010 - Barra the Tijuca and in SP I like Churrascaria Barbacoa at are. Dr. Renato Paes de Barros, 65 in Itaim Bibi.

But most of the time I prefer a whole steak in front of me too and I like Rodeio SH at Rua Haddock Lobo, 1498, a lot.
