It was towards the evening, but I was really in the middle of some park dressed in summer clothes. What happened was when I clicked on Confirm ride it went to the Uber map with blue dot showing my location but that's that. It would show Uber cars passing by me, but nothing was being done about my request. Anybody experienced anything like this? Never happened to me before. I messaged Uber but still had to take a taxi to the airport. When I arrived to Rio an hour later the Uber worked fine.

At least on Monday the Uber drivers were on strike.

Saturday night I finally made it to the famed Scandalo. This is my take. I'm a total newbie in terms of clubs (have other interests too believe it or not). I spend enough time in Rio and haven't even been to 4*4. This message is primarily meant for newbies like me that don't want to read pages and pages of War and Peace and comments that follow them. I really don't care what the old timers think about me rehashing what they already know for the 500th time. Don't want to read it skip to the next post or go back to your RODs. Am I pissed a bit at the attitude I've seen here so far here? You figure that out.

I liked Scandalo. It definitely didn't live up to the hype, and subsequently my expectations but it's a good place. A lot of good-looking women of all ethno-racial diversity available in Brazil. Surprisingly a sufficient number of those that I consider to be on the ugly side too. Many of them however I saw being occupied by guys like me so tastes differ I guess, often in extreme.

Most of women hang around at the bar in the main room expectantly looking out towards the tables most of which seemed to be occupied by the bored single men having a drink. It takes whopping are $500 to enter the place but from what I understand it's less before 7 pm. Out of this 500 you can spend 300 on food and drink. The restaurant is the first room you'd see. The dinning hall looked nice and pretty quite. The aforementioned blonde and I finished our attempt at the world record in making out and grouping over nice order of fried calamari and highly fresh sushi. There is some great food at Scandalo no doubt.

One of the questions I was going ask on the forum but didn't get a chance since I was getting such a strong push back from the old timers was how hard do they crank up their AC. Not that hard.

After striking out with Uber I tried to get my usual $R1,000 out of the ATM and three times got 'operation canceled, service unavailable'. The hotel receptionist then told me that apparently there is a law in Sao Paulo that prohibits banks from dispensing more than $R500 on Sundays. Something to keep in mind to prevent yourself from feeling anxious like I did.

Surprised receptionist didn't know but there's a $R500 limit after 10 pm.

From the 5 times I went during the past three weeks, 2 were simply outstanding, one was normal, and two went bad. And this goes for those who want to take a whole trip from the other side of the world to Sao Paulo for one weekend or few days only just to hit Scandallo.

It was a Thursday night and I had the moods to go to Scandallo, not knowing there was going to be a semi-famous local Sertanejo star and her band. I like the music. When I arrived around midnight it was crowded, music super loud, there were nice girls singing the bands song in tables with locals, lots of brazilians and the ratio men-women was 2-1 or even 3-1. So it was going to be a very hard night to make a nice pick.

Around 2 am I only talked to a pair of girls I didn't like. Not even to share a drink or dinner. At 2:15 am when the show was over, I saw an incredible fitness brunette that was with a group of girls, she looked stunning, beautiful face, and healthy athlete wearing yoga pants a top and high heels that fit her perfect, so I immediately went to her and guess what.

She rejected me!!

She said "I'm to leave with that guy" (vou sair com o cara). Man. She was crazy hot!! And the guy was strong young brazilian, so nothing to negotiate with the stunner.

I am glad you had a great time and knew that another round would be futile after being drained by Carol Fenix, who is incredible. I would, however, caution against giving / tipping women for just existing or spending time with you. From my understanding, locals do not tip unless something is being given. Thankfully, you had a make-out session, which seems like a fair trade. As tourists / visitors, we should abide by the local customs and, of course, show gratitude, but when tipping too much for nothing would not only inflate the "gringo" price, it will also inflate the local offerings too.

She didn't really reject you she had accepted an offer and was leaving with the guy and they woint ever and cannot change their minds after accepting the offer at certain establishments as it could lead to aggro between you and the other guy or the girl and the guy.

I felt that frustration myself a few times.
