From what I understand a court trial found that the closing of Bahamas was unwarrented and that the owner Oscar Maroni could reopen. However another court trial found that the properties Mr. Maroni acquired in that whole neighbourhood (including the hotel) was not according to rules and regulations of the SP state and he had no lisence to open neither the club nor the hotel. So basically he can't open anything on that property again.

The main problem was with the hotel (because of the proximity of this building to the Congonhas airport).

The misunderstanding probably comes from the fact that there is a GDP site with the name Bahamas.
