For the who are confused, if you arrive before 19 h, the minimum fee is $R150. It is consumable. If you consume more than that, you pay only for consumption. No entry fee. Pay as you leave.

If you arrive after 19 h, the minimum is 220. Only 150 is consumable. So if you spend 350, be prepared to cough up another 70.

Scandallo also has a free shuttle that will pick you up if at least two of you are going.

Casarao has an entry fee of $R20 or 30. Your choice. You can use the full amount for consumption. If you exceed the 20 or 30, you pay the difference when leaving.

With all respect you originally wrote "IMHO, curious as to feedback on this issue." But then you seem to be aggravated with those of us that ask for clarification. In my case, I asked for clarification and you just repeated what I had read the first time. In Larry's case, you call his reading comprehension into question. Those responses do not seem to be consistent with a good faith request for feedback.

Judging by the variety of responses there is sufficient ambiguity in your original report to cause those of us reading it to draw different conclusions. If the follow up q's are too aggravating then, fine, lets just stop the conversation. For my part, I am still confused about 2 things:

- how much you paid in total. Was it 150 + 350 = 500, or was it just 350?

- what was the position of the Scandalo staff in response to your complaint?

If you didn't pay going in, as your original post alludes to, then you were charged correctly on the way out.

Finally got to Scandallo last night. Got there at around 1845 h paid the Brl $ 150,00 consumacao. After 1900 h it's Brl $220. Had the house sushi at Brl $65, a Bud at Brl $35, a "dry" martini at Brl $ 70,00 and a MonteCristo #2 ring at Brl $170,00. Was taken aback when I had to cash out at Brl $350,00 when I left. According to my calculations my bill should have been Brl $ 200. My logic was as you consume these items are deducted from your consumacao, once it's exhausted, the charges begin to accrue. cl

I've never paid upon entry. At entry, I get the tracking card no money required. Never encountered a request for money upon entry. The only time I ever paid was upon leaving. The cashier is downstairs next to the elevator, or upstairs for a room. If you pay exit fee for a girl, that you will pay to a cashier to the left of the entry registration.

Kcrl01, it sounds like you unwittingly gave a tip to the front desk. Unlike Casarao, Scandallo doesn't collect the entrada upfront.

Hold on. I did not initially read his post as indicating that he paid the 150 entrada upon arrival. And then paid 350 at exit. Lets ask him to clarify, thus totaling 500. If so, then indeed he was clearly ripped off (assuming the entrada was advertised as with consumacao, which is the case before 19:00).

I read him as complaining that he paid nothing on entrance, assumed he had 150 in credit, racked up 350 in consumption, was charged 350 upon exit, but was chagrined be / see he expected to pay only 200. I assumed this be / see when I went they did not ask for any money up front upon arrival. Just presented my identification and received the "comanda", the card to present to waiters, that tracks purchases. My only payment was made at exit.

Not on this fucking planet! Their methods, your consumaco is added to your tab and then deducted. Brasiliero accounting methods, if the girls don't fuck you the house is guaranteed to. IMHO the Brl $ 150,00 consumacao is only a savings if you bounce against the marginal cost incurred by the Brl $220,00 ingresso and consumacao after 1900 h. IMHO, curious as to feedback on this issue. Argued with cashier chick to no avail got weird looks from people standing close by. Always happens when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me!

Clearly they with the Gringo Tax or rip off the FNG. The place is no better than alley way clip joint! IMHO.

Sorry to belabor the point but you paid 150 upon arrival? At Casarao you pay the 30 or 20 upon entering. At Scandalo, I do not recall paying anything upon entering. I just recall presenting my ID and receiving the tracking card. If you truly paid 150 up front, then I don't see how they did not subtract that from your 350 at the end. Honestly, they are not Romanza, which is known to be predatory. Scandalo does not need to be predatory as their prices are so high already.

I can understand why you would be irate, but more than than I cannot understand how they denied your claim at checkout. What exactly did they say? Did they claim you had not paid the 150 upon entering or did they claim that the 150 did not include consumacao? I feel there must be some detail missing because this is too open and shut as it stands right now. With all the people at checkout I can't believe that some manager would not have stepped in and easily resolved this.

In the States Scandallo would be held accountable to charges of false advertising, misrepresentation and fraud as they are pulling a classic 'bait and' switch. " Also, I noticed they asked if it was my first time there before the cadastar of my ID. Thinking now this was not so much to find me in their system, but more to identify me as a FNG.

Now I'm understanding why they call it Scandallo!

Which kinda' leads me to my next gripe about Brasilieros sales & marketing techniques. When I shop at the Extra, before you pay your grocery bill they always ask, "Is there anything else you need, do you need to pay for parking, would you like to re-charge your fone credits," the little words above my head are saying, "If needed to do any of that shit don't you think I'd told you, give me my Goddamn change!
