Several sites recommend this hotel as girl friendly, but I don't know if they all just copy each other. Anyone have any insight? Mercure Sao Paulo Augusta Hotel, Rua Padre Joao Manuel, 202.

Or any other suggestions for something both upscale and girl friendly? I'm not set on any area of the city.

Mercure hotels are girl friendly. No charge if they just "visit" you. If they stay overnight they may charge you something. That's the answer I got from the Mercure hotels, when I asked.

ALthough now 5 years back, I used to stay at Maksoud Plaza, very nice hotel and girl friendly. No reason it would have changed in the meantime.

The Renaissence Hotel at Al. Santos is a good alternative.

Where the best action on Friday's?

Best nights for all boates are Tues-Wed-Thurs.

Saturday is good at Casarao not elsewhere.

Sunday shut everywhere except 3 daytime clinicas and casarao (but not sure if action level there).

Monday slow at all clubs.

So I would not recommend a visit that was exclusively Sun-Mon. You will see it at its worst. My point that there is action everyday stands but it applies more to folks that stay a week. They always have options. But it does not mean everyday has the same level and the same options.

I searched the forum but didn't see any recent information. Just considering if I should add to my list of clubs to visit on an upcoming trip.

Been there 5-6 times in a 3 year span. Live pretty close to it but I wouldn't recommend it.

It's cheaper than the most expensive clubs (Scandallo, cafe photo and Bomboa) I think entrance is 120 most of it being consumable and the rooms I think cost around 100. The girls charge around 300.

Half the time I couldn't find anyone I liked to go up but I'm picky.

It is the best boate in the region though. There's no other mid to high tier club in the vicinity so if you can't make the trip to cafe photo or Bomboa which is 20 minutes away I guess it's an OK option.

Forget searching for the elusive English speaking GDP. Google translator on your phone. Download before you go and use it with the GDPs. Best bet for daytime is the clinicas. No hassle, no wait. Get a presentation and pick a girl. Susan and Takumi. Managers at Tangara. Both speak English and can help you choose a girl.

Pretty par for the course with escort ads. I know guys preparing to visit are looking at the escort sites and imagining how fantastic the girls look, and imagining a perfect encounter. But more often than not I would wager calling an escort cold will be an underwhelming experience if you are here for a short time. There are some great escorts out there, but it usually requires reading the local forum reviews, to have any degree of confidence. Even then, others tastes will unlikely correspond to your own. If you have only a few days in SP, IMO, its not worth the opportunity cost of doing something else. Living here, I occasionally take a flyer on an escort, but I approach it as throw away roll of the dice, entering the encounter with low expectations. If it works out well, great if not, no big deal B/ CI don't have time limits. But for visitors who want to maximize their time its "usually" a poor option.
