Not only is carsaro closed but it seems the sign has been permanently stripped from the building. It leaves me wondering if the owners are planning to re-open in a new location or are they officially throwing in the towel and calling it a day. In may of this year, on a previous trip to SP, I noticed the overhead "casaro" sign was still present. In July, I took another peek as I took an afternoon stroll down rua augusta and the sign had been removed. I hope I'm wrong, but the fact that it's gone now could be bad news for the future of this former SP institution.

Not knowing if you have been to Bomboa or Scandallo, I will share my observation and experience. If you read the reports, the reports will tell you the selection is very limited. The place feels tight or cozy is a nice way to put it. I think they also raise their price again to more than 200.

Personally I would not go again until the general condition improves. I would just go to Scandallo because that is where you will find a significantly larger selection which I guess is also far less than before pandemic.

I hope you find out that I am wrong if you go then I will go visit too!

I don't doubt what you say. I did go to old Bomboa few times and just wanted to check it out. I'm planning to go to Scandallo on Wednesday and Thursday.

Not knowing if you have been to Bomboa or Scandallo, I will share my observation and experience. If you read the reports, the reports will tell you the selection is very limited. The place feels tight or cozy is a nice way to put it. I think they also raise their price again to more than 200.

Personally I would not go again until the general condition improves. I would just go to Scandallo because that is where you will find a significantly larger selection which I guess is also far less than before pandemic.

If you are making hotel reservations for your trip, don't book this hotel. I have stayed here 4-5 times and been quite satisfied, but there is a construction site somewhere very close and they are building a sun deck or something on the roof of the hotel. 18 euros per night wasn't bad, but I'm going to need ear plugs to be able to sleep during the day.
