This is an interesting observation. I'm a newbie monger, first time trip booked to Brazil. My current plan is to spend 3 days in SP, go to Scandallo on a Thursday, Friday and maybe Saturday night while spending the daytime at the Clinicas. Then head to Rio on Sunday morning, maybe do some sightseeing that day as a rest day to get some energy back. Then visit MonteCarlo, Centaurus, and 4 X 4 between Monday and Tuesday, and then head back to SP on Wednesday, and repeat the Scandallo maybe nightly until I leave on Saturday night.

What do you think about my nefarious plans? I have hotels booked and just need to book my flight from SP to Rio. Any feedback is appreciated.

Sounds like quite the plan if your budget can handle it. Just have a backup plan ready in case SP goes into another lockdown.

I plan on heading down for work in August and will do my usual one night stay in Rio for 4 x4 and then head to SP for three nights of Scandello provided that SP and Scandello are both open for normal business. If not, I will extend my stay in Rio.

On a different note, Rio is a much better city for very obvious reasons. If Scandallo weren't here, I would see no reason to ever come to Sao Paulo. For the newbie monger on a 10 day trip, I'd say spend 7 days in Rio then 3 days in Sao Paulo. During those 3 days, set up shop at Scandallo and get all the poison out.

You are absolutely wrong here. I am driven by value for money. I am not one to run to a venue that is a tourist trap. My favorite destination is Germany where I monger with the Germans. The best optics can be found in FKKs. I have found great optics in China, Thailand and Indonesia at reasonable prices. As an additional anecdote, I had a conversation with a Brazilian girl about it and she got very offended when I said that in the US she would not be considered white.

I guess in Brazil if you are light skinned but mixed a little bit with something else, you can call yourself white. I tried to explain to her that in the US and Europe you're only considered white if you're pretty much entirely European, but she wasn't having it.

In any case, there are a lot of race issues in Brazil. Next time you're in southern Brazil, ask someone for a brigadiero for a dessert and see what they call it instead.

Thanks for confirming that it's closed on Sundays. That's what I thought, but some have come here claiming that it was open on Sundays (I have never known that to be true). Some people have also indicated that Thursday is really the only good day. Again, that does not square with my own personal experience. I'm not saying that Thursdays suck, but I've gone on Friday and Saturday nights and had a blast! Place was packed with plenty of hot options!
