Or even a starlink (see attached). If I have a friend bring me one from the USA can I use that device?
Maybe this should be on the general info thread. But there is also a business opportunity here.
See economist.com for articles on hackers in Brazil. Maybe this is just the group to find talent for that biz. Goes well with fcking, which is part of the 3 F's of Brazilian culture, along with fighting and futbol.
Speaking of which, where are my German soccer fans out there? I could use some authentic German National Team soccer shirts-- will pay Fair Market Value! Since I am from a Hamburg family, which immigrated to Switzerland during the wars, and from thence to Brazil.
Vasco uber alles!

You need to be connected to WiFi and have an unlocked phone for the eSIM to install.

Good thing I was stoned on Nederhash laced joints and was therefor very flexible. KKK. I also knew I was going to be in SE Asia in a couple of days and my layover was just a warmup for much better things to come.

Google Fi unlimited + plan is $65/ month which comes to $780/ year and they throw in a year of YouTube Premium. The only benefit I see in switching to Google Fi would be if I wanted a new phone. For new subscribers Google Fi offers its Google Pixel 8 Pro for $12.46 per month discounted from $41.62 per month with 24 bill credits, Retail price: $999 $41.62/ mo $12.46/ mo with 24 bill credits which comes to $700 back after 24 months.
Or Google Fi offers a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra at $27.08 per month discounted from $50.00 per month with 24 bill credits, Retail price: $1,199.99 $50.00/ mo $27.08/ mo with 24 bill credits. Retail price: $1,199.99 which comes to $550 back after 24 months.
If I needed a new phone I would jump on the Google offer. But I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra which is working fine, so I don't think I will change plans right now, but I will keep this in mind when the time comes to buy a new phone.

Posts: 4034That is how any mobile carrier international roaming plan works. GoogleFi's privacy policy is what sets it apart. Like any google product, you have to go through lots of hoops to retain any control of your personal data. Unlike other google products, GoogleFi doesn't offer much cost advantage over competitive products that comply with international personal data protection laws.

Posts: 32Download the app "Airalo" and assuming your phone has esim, you get 10 gb for $25/30 days, half the price. I got cancelled by google fi because I sometimes I spend more than 3 months at a time outside of the US and that's against their terms of service. Great report and thanks for taking a stand on the BBBJ, this is exactly what I do, always. This is a Hard No for me anywhere, especially in Brazil where it almost never happens. Cheers.

Posts: 2944The CBJ finally caught up to you. I know that naked feeling as I have been there a few times. Haha. What did you think you could say to change her mind?
