Posts: 1077SP for the first time visitor to Brazil.
In considering flight options for my first trip to Rio, I noticed that when I go on Skiplagged.com I come across some interesting flight routes that offer economy with an odd extended layover in SP. We were talking close to an entire day between flights and enough time to justify getting a room. My first thought is this would be a good opportunity to do a bit of mongering and enjoying what is purported to be the most beautiful women in Brazil, before catching a flight to GIG. Then again, maybe I am not giving SP due consideration. It does have the reputation as a business capital with little of touristic interest, but that reputation comes people who have never been to Brazil AFAIK. What are your opinions on SP for one's first visit to Brazil? I'm not a conventional tourist, obviously.
BTW, I'm actually a huge fan of Brazilian music, whether it be Bossa Nova or MPB. For all I know, SP is the live music capital of Brazil. I've picked up Portuguese better than Spanish (I'm studying both languages casually) I believe because of all the music I listen to sung in Brazilian Portuguese. I can barely handle listening to Spanish language music. Which usually doesn't have much to say. Its been said that Brazil hasn't produced much in the way of science and intellect, but they sure hit out of ballpark when it comes to song and dance.
Anyways, I am curious what some would think about visiting SP on the way in and out of the country as a layover, or does it deserve more time when weighed against the glamorous and fabled Rio. I understand that domestic flights are cheap, anyways. Your thoughts, please.

Termas. Sort of a club with working girls. Only in Rio. Never been myself, description probably somewhere here.
Freelancer. In Sao Paulo PM me.
Stay. In Sao Paulo. Moema, Itaim Bibi, Jardins are good areas. At least a couple of good Clinicas in Moema. Itaim has some night life with Vila Olimpia neighboring.

Posts: 648I can't stress enough how people should not become attached to the idea that some clinicas have better lineups, or "types" of girls, than others. The only thing that is stable about the clinicas is the infrastructure. The lineups are always in flux, GPS moving from one casa to another casa. Day to day, week to week. The casas do not choose a particular body type, skin color, hair color, safadeza. These are all myths. There is a thread on gp-guia that shows where all the ex-Brooklin girls are now working. Its a who's who of the other clinicas. Tangara has a pipeline of girls that visit from Curitiba, that is about the only "exception" I can think of in terms of differentiation. Otherwise, the local girls spend a few days, weeks, months at one place, then go to another.

We just had a blast flirting and dancing and kissing (light) and doing what you do in a club. So by the time you get to the room there can be serious chemistry already. I think this would be hard to achieve at a Clinica.

Actually not true. I don't get the sweet discount at Tangara either but that isn't even advertised like Brooklyn does.
