Thanks for the comment Wyatt! I've been lurking in the shadows and trying to decided which city would be better for a first timer. It appears that Rio might be the safer choice from what I've been reading. If I may be so bold to ask the question to the experienced SP members, what do you guys do for fun right now at night? From what I've been reading the bar / clubs are closed and restaurants must close by 5. I did get a few ideas of some Boates from another members post. Casarao is an example. Can anyone with boots on the ground suggest any more that's open during this crazy COVID time? Once I have a few ill venture out and find others, but having a few would be a helpful starting point.

Thanks again for any members nice enough to answer. Normally I would just go and explore / find out for myself, but with some many places closing down and all this craziness I thought it would be worth a shot to ask LOL.

Rio is also still a premier tourist destination. Men are likely to venture there for a beach vacation and Rio's past reputation for mongering.

They go back a little bit further to 2002. It's hard to believe it's been that long ago.

Rio was also my first love. But man has a lot changed since I started going (for the worst). Quatro por Quatro is gone. L'uomo is gone. Aereoporto is gone. Rio Antigo is gone. Help is gone. All of these closures have caused a major hit to the Rio scene. And now I hear that Bomboa in Sao Paulo may be gone for good too? This is sad my fellow mongers. So, so sad! I hope things are looking better in 2021, and that maybe some termas and clubs will re-open, or maybe some new ones will pop up somewhere.

On the website it says new address shortly. A couple girls that work in SP told me Scandallo was undergoing remodeling and Bomboa would have a new location after lock down.

The Rio forum has more threads because it's much more of a "vacation city" - ie it has great beaches, spectacular views, and a more relaxed vibe. And the mongering is still pretty damn good, even though not what it was 15-20 years ago. But, if you're a fan of large cities, you might actually love SP. It has a feel very much like New York City. IMO it has a lot more going for it than many posters here let on, with excellent restaurants, parks, museums, etc. And of course the hottest women in the world. But it can also be a pain in the ass with things quite spread out and terrible traffic (though the Metro is great).

Regardless, if you'll be in Brasil at least a week (and I can't imagine flying that far for a shorter trip), I would strongly advise to visit both cities. Very easy to buy an open jaw ticket flying into SP and leaving from Rio. The flight between the two cities is like 40 minutes and will cost under $50.

I still love Rio and would always advise newbies to visit that city first. It is a better all round city. However, I will also advise a visit to SP as well, the mongering is great, however, so is the mongering in Rio.

I entirely agree with your sentiment on Rio. Unless business takes you to SP, newbies should visit Rio first. Rio is a beautiful city (with its warts like any city) and there is a solid mongering scene. I am a beach person. I also love the cafes along Copacabana Beach for a meal or drinks. There are also some nice places in the Ipanema neighborhood just a short walk from the beach. Seeing scantily clad Brasileiras on the beach get my sexual juices flowing.

The Sao Paulo regulars might take offense, but Sao Paulo is good for doing business in Brazil and mongering. The city doesn't offer a lot to a tourist.

My question for you all is what makes So Paulo better than Rio for mongering?

Would you say that SP has more or less clinicas than Rio? And are there better options for mongering in SP or Rio, in your opinion?

I ask this because I notice that the Rio forum here has a much larger thread count and reports.

Besides Casarao can you point to a few others you recommend? (Assuming they reopen.). I liked Casarao but it's a whole different feel from Scandallo (and half the price) more like a crowded bar than a nightclub. I mean each has its place and that's awesome about SP. You can spend from $30-300 on a girl and evening. Just pick your poison.

Bomboa is / was very good. Connection, which I didn't even know was still open, is very good (or last least was years ago when I went). I know Cafe Foto isn't a Boate, but at times in the past, it's had excellent talent.

Picking up in boates (clubs) is my favorite way to roll.

I was never much of a fan of the CLnicas in Rio, nor did I enjoy having to walk around in those spas (I. E. Termas) in a bathrobe.

I'll have to do more research into pricing. $500 sounds a bit steep, because that's about the price here in my part of the USA.

However, $300 bucks a pop for high quality talent (if my assumptions are correct) sounds like So Paulo would be an excellent trip.

Looking forward to making the trip, once the world gets back to normal, one of these days.

I heard from someone that Bomboa is closed permanently. Sad news, but I always went to Scandallo instead. Also, heard that since the clubs are closed, the girls go to Connection Club, which is open.
