Not a bad day but nowhere near as good as day one. Started the day with coffee at Bella Paulista before heading to my dentist appointment. Unfortunately my teeth were worse than I thought so the appointment took 2 1/2 hours and finished at 12:30. I was still in local anaesthetic so headed to Skye and had cocktails with my buddy. We needed to do some shopping and also wanted cigars so instead of Clinicia Kin we headed to Avenida Paulista and then Tabacaria Roma. Tabacaria Roma is more expensive than Tabacaria National but that is not surprising due to the location. There is an English speaking maestro there. My buddy reached out to confirm with Glacya and Amanda but Amanda had cancelled due to another forista offering her more than are $700 per noite. I'm pissed but I have long learned to not sweat over what I cannot control. Glacya is a gem.

And is sending me pics of other girls to bring along at the same rate but none are lighting my fire and I don't feel the need to force it. What I didn't know at the time was that this occurrence was a harbinger for the rest of my day.

We cool, but he needs to fall back a bit.

She counters with are $250 for the 30 minutes. I don't even hold back the laughter and tell her to call the police. She then says I should call her an Uber and give her are $100. She's got neck, I'll give her that!

I tell her to leave, give her the are $50 and shake my head. I'm down are $150 but it could be me worse and These are the risks we take in the game we play. I'm sightseeing with my academic friend tomorrow and he does not partake in the hobby so it may be that we only do Scandello or Casarao again at night, but it's all good. 'Unfortunately' for me, my dental treatment requires two more trips to SP this year. There will be more good days than bad.

Can someone help explain the difference between a clinica, boate, terma, an prives? I always read this forum an the Rio forum an always get thrown off.

I'm from LOS Angeles an make random trips to Hong Kong in Tijuana. Which one of those 4 club types most closely resembles Hong Kong? An I'm not sure I'd even have a preference, I just want to have the ability to scout the talent an pick whichever suits my needs.

I'm trying to plan a trip this May, an trying to map all this out.

The one that comes close to HK in size and selection will be Scandallo except the girls are dressed formally. It is more luxurious and provide the service you would expect from a high end place. HK is at the low end for service and facility.

For mongering purpose and not considering the sauna, termas and boates are similar but boates usually have much larger club area.

Clinicas are like massage places but don't provide massage, it depends on you and the girl you choose. They usually have better facility, a waiting area, room with shower, the shortest time you get is 30 minutes for about 120 and up.

I don't know exactly what is a prive because there are many other venues. Based on my observation, prives are cheaper in general and offer service starting from 15 minutes or 20 minutes for around 50 more or less. The facilities usually are not very good. I guess a distinction one can make is clinicas always provide clean bed sheet while prives normally don't.

There are many variations that are not easy to describe but that should give you a general idea.

Oh for sure. Metro Rio de Janeiro has over 13 million people. Even ignoring talent that migrates to Rio, there is a lot of homegrown talent.

Even Brazilians will have differing views on the cultural importance of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Rio was the capital of Brazil until 1960. Unfortunately, much of Rio's colonial past has been knocked down by newer development. I think RJ-SP debates are somewhat analogous to LOS Angeles-New York debates.

One last point about Rio's tourism dynamic. You will find some attractive and unattached female tourists in the Rio beach areas if you want to try out your game. Do unattached female tourists really go to Pattaya?

I cut and pasted those posts from Rovnak and saved them in my notes folder while planning this trip. Not seen him post for a while, but his contributions were much appreciated. I think I made the mistake a lot of 1st timers to SP make and that's to plan too much. I treated Photofakes and Private55 as sure things where as actually, once you get a presentation in a clinicia you are not thinking about Cleo from Santo Amaro anymore.

I have not even need to a club yet but have the feeling there is a LOT more yet to come from SP. Lucky I have to come back later this year.

Planning is a good thing. Everyone has different styles and venues they dig. Of course, one could just go to Scandallo every night and be assured of hooking up with a hot Brasileira who will perform at a high standard compared to the rest of the globe.

You wouldn't be the first one thrown off by the Brazilian eye candy sites. Many members have had some decent luck with just point & click searches on these sites, but eventually their luck runs out.

You have also seen the clinicas can have varied talent. Most of the clinicas here are from fairly affluent areas of Sao Paulo. I assure you there are some pretty nasty clinicas around the city.

You met the infamous Hannah redhead at Prime. She is one of the better English speakers in all the clinicas. She is hot but a little thicker than I like and has silicone. Her schedule is booked full usually days in advance and she is rarely in any presentations. I try to do a session with her every visit to SP also. Though her sessions are great, she can get tired and less energy later in the day. Once I tried to book her a week ahead and she was fully booked by her regulars. That is like 10 sessions in a day. She mentioned to me previously she likes it when she knows all the guys already and gets nervous with new guys. She probably didn't know who you were and was more comfortable extending the last session. Unfortunately she only works in the CLínica and doesn't share her numbers nor do outcalls. If you read the forum trip reports carefully you will find the answer to your question. But here is a quick cliff notes summary:

Clinicas. Basically the same thing as a BKK oily massage parlor. Customer walks in, is shown the available girls, picks one, and goes upstairs. 240 br all inclusive price for room and 60 minutes of sex. Clinicas offer the best bang for your buck. RTFF for more info.

Prives. RJ's version of Clinicas ie oily massage parlors except Prives are mostly located in downtown RJ office buildings. I prefer Clinicas. RTFF for more.

Termas. Are bars with in-house girls available for sex upstairs. Total bill includes entry fee, the girl (if one is chosen, drinks if purchased, and the room). The customer pays his bill before leaving. They are great. RTFF.

Boates. Are a combination bar, lounge, nightclub, restaurant, and bordello. The girls, however, are independent contractors. Customers are billed for the entry fee and bar tab. Sexual Arrangements are made separately with individual girls, so prices may vary. Nice rooms are available in-house or you can leave with your girl for some other place for the same fee. Boates are my favorite venue because they have the best selection and the largest number of girls, but they are the most expensive alternative in SP. RTFF trip reports.

I think Rio is more similar to BKK than SP does.

I was only comparing the relationship between BKK & Pat to the relationship between SP & RJ. The big city, financial hub to the essentially resort beach town. Actually if I were to compare SP to any place I would compare the Moema Clinica daytime action to Singapore's Geylang Casas and the Boate nightlife experience to the Jakarta lounge / bordello scene found in clubs like Malio / Malioboro and the former Alexis Hotel. There are dissimilarities too, obviously.

I have always strongly advised against this idea that you could just shop for escorts looking for the best on-line photos. This is true anywhere in the world.

Landed at 0525 Thursday morning. Getting out of London was no issue, provided negative test and completed Anvisa health declaration online form and aboard we go. Uber pick up point is outside the terminal, ignore the ones 'offering' you an Uber and make your booking. Driver shows up promptly and are $65 to Ibis on Avenida Paulista. I considered Renaissance as per previous recommendations but having used IBIS in Bogota I'm comfortable with it for it's guest access. Arrived Hotel at 0730 and no amount of negotiating would get an early check in so looked for a breakfast spot. We settled on Bella Paulista (24 hours), had a nice buffet, coffee and ran up are $80 between us, an absolute steal.

After stalling in there for 90 minutes we got an Uber to Prime Clinicia. Google said it opened at 10 am, it does not. We arrived 1025 and only Anna was there. She's the only one who speaks English. Said we can keep her company outside while we wait. Nice girl, Ruvia. Called my buddy a dick for saying he's only in São Paulo for the sex, which he is. I wanted to smash as I've never had a redhead before and she looked real good dressed up, sexy red dress. BUT, after pulling a joke about my favourite colour being blue she gave some attitude. Prime now has 13 girls. Good lineup for my tastes but the girls are all pequana. Some a little too much, but a solid lineup. A Forista sat next to us speaks English and we have a quick chat. Atex, my advice is don't think of it as a zero sum, win / lose game. You will have a great time in SP & RJ regardless of which town you wind up preferring at the end of your trip, and since this is your 1st visit to Brazil, I strongly recommend that you explore both towns, experience what each place has to offer and decide later which place suits your style more.

Now with that said, let me jump into this very controversial issue of which city is more fun:

A year ago, I was in the exact same position as you are now and about to make my 1st trip to Brazil. So I divided my time 55/45 between SP to RJ and I had a great time in both cities. They are very different, but the one thing they have in common is Brazilian girls and they are superb. On my 2nd trip in October I divided my time 65/35 between SP and RJ. See where this is going? KKK. It turned out that I personally preferred the clinicas and boates over the termas and the beach. But that is just me. Anyway trip #3 is coming up this April and I am going to spend 6 weeks in SP (full immersion), and only 1 week in RJ (I couldn't not spend some time in RJ), and I will see how it goes.

A few comments come to mind:

1. Scanadallo lives up to the hype. It is an amazing bordello and one of the best in the world. I am a believer. But don't forget about the other boates like Bomboa. They are a lot of fun too.

2. The termas are also great, but not as great. LOL. 4 x 4 gets pretty wild and it is very colorful, so you have to go, but Solarium has more girls with the kind of looks and bodies that are more to my personal liking. But both of these termas are a must when you visit RJ..
