Well, I have actually been on Rua Augusta but not after 2 or maybe 3 am. Maybe 15 years ago. But in the last few years. Rua Augusta had been greatly transformed when I visited Brasil in March of 2013. In the early 2000's and even the 1990's it was quite different. Also, Brazil has become more affluent and young people now seem to have a lot more money and pay huge cover charges to get into those new dance clubs, after standing in line for a very long time. I was quite surprised. Don't know how things are now!

Re BH, I know a few places like Sagitarius or Scorpio or something like that, and one or 2 other places. But I think they were all a bit of a rip off. I actually found better small bars with garotas in downtown Curitiba then, vs. BH. But, I admit I never really looked around much in BH. I like the places where the locals go. And avoid gringo places most of time. Again, dunno how things are now! I was not that impressed with Fortaleza on my last trip either.

Lately, I find the DR better, no drugs, no thieves, at least where I stay. And, chicks grow on trees. And, they come to me. As Cupid and Tagged work well for me in the DR. But, there are not quite the Brasilian standard, but nice in a different way, IMO.

I will check out GPguia but my Porto is limited to maybe 50 words and my Spanish maybe closer to 100. But, both in the DR, and Brasil they tell me I look local. And some think I am Colombian!! LOL.

And, I'm a bit different...I like the local places, the semi pros, non pros, I like hanging out with them for days or longer. Doing TD's is less important to me...because I find that hanging out in a club, dancing, or at a beach bar, or a mall, or a nice restaurant my sensory experience, the totality of it, lasts much longer than a TD and I get more pleasure for the interaction with the local girls and seeing them in different situations in the real world. I am not naive ...zero, and I am not looking for any kind of relationship either, just an international traveler who likes the totality of the travel and cultural experience. fwiw...it's a different mind set, I suppose ( not being pejorative here....to each his own I say ). I've been to Brasil many, many times ( lost count but north of 25 times for sure ), and I've been to Floripa, Porto Alegre, Brasilia, Salvador, Recife as well ovet the years, but 90 PC of my visits were for work ( and I was with my local staff/executives ( 17*7), when I was there. I only learned about this site at the tail end of my last visit to Brasil at one of the clinicas from one of the guys on this board , I guess...and googled it....so I only heard about all this after 2013 ( and I was married until 2012 and working maybe 60 hrs a week and 50 PC of my time traveling internationally for work, and I was totally focused on managing my businesses and my P & L responsibility for Fortune 50 corporations. So, yeah, I really have no experience like you guys, prior to 2013 !!!

Yes, rua Augusta changed a lot. To worse! The only place who is worth visiting is Casarao, you pay 20 reais entrance and can enjoy a disco and a basement llounge, incalls are around 300 reais = 40 minutes + room I tkink is 50 reais 40 min. Outcalls to be negociated but is in the range of 800 reais. Value must be negociated. If you don't speak porto it's going to be a hard task.

Quality of the girls is an average of 5 / 6, sometimes you can hit the jackpot if you meet a girl of the hight prices boites, you can f*ck them for less here, as business in these hight end boites slowed down.

Over the years past, I've stayed the Renaissance, Hilton and Grand Hyatt and never had an issue bringing back guests w / o any additional fees, provided I booked the room as double occupancy.

Hope the fx rates stays in my (USD) favor!

It has been quite some years I don't have a customer staying at this hotel but it was not what we can call as " girls friendly ".

My experience tells me that if you are not familiar with the local scene and don't speak portuguese, better and safer you go to a love hotel as the Lido, they keep thack of the girls.

Or even better, go to a CLínica and bang the girl there.

Fortaleza is supposed to be kinda bad too! I've heard of those spots in front of kilt but never been I'm around 30 so. Haha.

Anyway idk if you have gone up rua Augusta from kilt (about 1-2 km) around 4-6 am on weekends, it's mayhem. You see all the lost gothic, emo and metal head souls of Sao Paulo gather around and drink cheap domestic Smirnoff vodka on the streets.

Average age being 19. It's quite a sight but I wouldn't walk more than 2 blocks there alone.

Did you book BH? Can you access gpguia.net?

If you can't or don't read Portuguese much let me know I will see which boates are the most famous there and or clinics.

Thanks, Pdawg. I will put BH on the top of my list! I've been there before many many years ago and stayed at the Othon Palace on the Main Street Alfonso Pena ...with a lot of action...but I don't really know where to go in BH except the ones like Sagitarius ( if I remember right ).BTW, I have never had a problem at Love Story! I try to establish some sort of contact with one or more guys at the entry area. And sometimes they help me negotiate later, if needed. And I tip them of course. And, I've not had any issues on Rua Augusta or the places by Kilt either. I don't go to Kilt but used to go to a smaller place across (because I had established a rapport with the bartender there and the boss lady but last time I was there a little over 2 years ago, they were both gone after nearly 10 years. And, also 2-3 of the other ones on that street but I have had mixed luck there. I think I've been lucky with safety because I stay low key. Look like a Brasileiro until I open my mouth. And, even then many just don't believe me. The girls working there and even a flight attendant on AA who called me out once in front of a boatload of passengers, and confidently told everyone that I was ashamed to admit that I was a Brasilian. Haha. God, I just wish I was born a Brasilian, honest to God!! And, that's coming from a true lifelong agnostic!..
