He was 1st rate and he never had the presumption to ask for a tip, but I gave him a little something (200 Br) for his excellent service during my cumulative 8 bar visits that trip although I admit I was reluctant to give him a tip because as I understand local customs, Brazil is not a tipping culture and I really prefer not to stand out or act differently than the locals.

Anyway, things went the same way at Bomboa on my 3rd Brazil trip in April 2022. Same Waiter / no tip requests / great service and I rewarded him with another cumulative tip before I left town.

But then on my 4th visit in Nov 2022 things changed. I was assigned a new waiter, and I went along with the change because my old waiter knew and approved the change and I therefore saw no reason to object. My new waiter was a short guy with short hair. I forgot his name, but again I might get it tonight for full disclosure. He was a good waiter, but when I went to the front desk to settle my bill, he took me aside and hit me up for a tip. I told him I was a repeat customer, and he should talk to my old waiter about how I treated him. Then I added if you don't bother me anymore about a tip, I will remember to take care of you before I leave town. I looked him straight in the eye and said, do you understand me? And he replied, yes Sir.

Ok, mission accomplished or so I thought. But the dummy kept pestering about a tip each and every time (6 x total) that I visited Bomboa during the remainder of that trip. The end result: he got nada from me and that is what he deserved IMHO.

Anyway, fast forward to my following May / June 2023 SP trip. Undeterred by pesky waiters BS, I went to Bomboa early on in that trip and the 1st thing I did was to request my old waiter be reinstated as my waiter. I made the request right in front of both men. Fuck it! I spend enough money in this joint to have the way I like it and I was not in the mood to take anymore shite from the impertinent waiter. I didn't give a damn what he thought. The end result: I was no longer bothered by the guy and I continued to my patronage of the club while nobody hit me up for another tip.

Now the question arises: did my pesty waiter ever request a tip from local customers? I am not 100% sure about this, although I highly doubt it. So that is the issue. Are some of the staff practicing price discrimination against gringos and other foreign customers? And if so, what is management's position on this?

The guys at the front door never hit me up for a tip in the past. They know who I am, and we always exchanged in a little friendly banter on my way in and out of the bordello. I always thought they were good guys. So, tonight is going to be interesting. KKK. And I will update the story after I check things out.

I never give a tip to anyone who asks for one and that includes chicas even if they have rendered good service. I went into this Chinese store in Boca chica, the DR and this security dude with a shot gun hit me up for a tip when I was departing, WTF??!!

Saturday's are fine. No worries. Sundays are tougher. Tanagara is open but most of the higher end clinicas are closed. Just use the ATM. The bank ATM fee will be tiny compared to money exchangers. Just make sure to choose the "no conversion" option to get the best rate.

Importantly Brasil is not like US with ATM in every hotel and open all hours. Best to get all you need before 10 Pm.

Here's is a little personal background info to add to the story: I visited Bamboa for the first time in Nov 2021 shortly after it reopened. Bomboa was packed but it's small so didn't need that man people there to pack it out. Much better looking women but less than 50 with maybe 40 dudes there. Sat by the bar after waiter tried to sit me where I didn't want. Soon as I got a drink, I got hounded by different girls trying to talk to me. Politely declined them because I wanted to see who all was there. But it was pointless because as soon as one walked away others came all dang night. So I just gave up and bought two of the ones that were trying everything in the book to talk to me. I thought I can just sit and drink with them while peeping out the scene. I tried to let them know I wasnt going to program with them but they still kept trying. There were some girls that I did want to talk to but they were already with a couple guys so I just called it a night. One of the girls I declined and brought a drink asked me for a caixinha, gorjeta or tip. And I ask for what and the other girl start laughing. I say my goodbyes and the waiter who tried to seat me pops out nowhere when I'm at the counter paying to leave. He ask the same thing the girl did and I tell him the same thing, for what? You didn't do anything. I tipped the bartender already and didn't see any need to tip anyone else. Then my Uber comes and a guy outside runs to open the door and keeps it open asking me for a tip. I just act like I don't understand and tell him chao chao. Luckily I've been doing this long enough to know you can't win every night and live to monger another day.

Let me tell you, in this case the expectations were met and surpassed. On Google maps it says Casarao is open regular hours on Sundays. True? I found that a bit surprising but would be great. Anyone been? Lame?

Casarao is basically open 7 days a week, even most holidays.

Sundays aren't terrible, and in fact you can find some gems who work at other clubs the rest of the week, so it can be worthwhile. This Sunday I sessioned with a girl who normally works at Bomboa, and I've seen a Scandallo girl or two there, though not the top tier ones obviously. My only warning is it can take longer for things to get busy, on a Sunday it could easily be a ghost town until 1-2 am. Worth the trip IMO as long as you don't mind potentially being out until 4 am.

Also great post Ricky. As far as the girl complaining about the club charging her R300, that's the fine for missing a day. Girls are scheduled to work five days, and if they miss any of them they owe the fine for that week.
