I've visited a hand full cambio's in Sao Paulo and felt the vast majority of them offer really crappy exchange rates. My go to spot is in the shopping mall across the street from the ibirapeura bourbon hotel in Moema. There is a money changer on the third or fourth floor that offers decent exchange rates. Changing money in Sao Paulo is not difficult but finding a fair exchange rate is a total hassle. Ymmv.

I presume you are speaking of the Shopping Ibirapuera mall. I have found the currency exchange there generally has better rates than the Jardim Paulista area where many visitors stay.

Spent 6 weeks in Brazil Feb-March mostly in SP but for the first time visited Rio as well during the first week of March. So about time I mentioned about this trip especially as I'm just back here for a week in SP again haha.
