Guerrero, As Albert told you; Lido is a motel that many GPs use as "in call" I haven't used it ever because as you, most of the time I stay in Jardins, and 70% of the independents have a place there. The Lido girls I cal them to come over my place.. Lido is used for newbies who don't have a apt or flat yet (Something similar to "La Roustique" in Baires).. most of them charge less that the other garotas .. is cheaper but not, you have to pay your taxi and the room too, most of the time...
If you stay in Jardins I recommend you to go see the girls that have a flat in the area,, as Albert say you will be surprised how many you can visit just walking a couple blocks.. even the girls that work in the Lido can go to your place and you save the room fee,, and I bet your place will be better than the motel room..
Cafe Photo in my poor opinion is the best place in town because you can find many 8s 9s and sometimes a 10 the other places have some 8s and sometimes 9s but is lower the quantity.. prices are real high for being Brasil kind of like Black in BAs but quality is way better...
You may go to Bamboa.. cheaper and full of cute chicks,
The other casas are in my last reports I'm sure you will find at least 1 that will fulfill your desires
About Floripa.. well, I do not know if is cheaper or better than SP for escort action.. I did go ones but I was with a girl too and more friends So I couldn't go to the casas.. I heard there are some places very expensive where rich and unlucky people get riped off... Quality is not as good as Cafe Photo but there are some other places I guess the name is Sexy club something like that, is more for locals and prices are OK.. Floripa has a bunch of blond and "brancas" but I do not know how is in the "boliches" like you say...
If you just have 3 days You may consider to go to Porto Alegre that is only 5 hours driving from Floripa.. Quality is superb and prices are way better than SP.. send a PM if you need info about this town ..

    Cafe Photo

    This is Cafe Photo www.cafephoto.com.br

It is un upscale club/bar where you can go and meet some very good looking girls. However, just to get in you pay a fee (sorry, I am not updated how much is) then you will pay good money for the girl to bring her home.
So, yes it is an excellent place in case you are not on a budget.

Otherwise, what you look for ?
    Club, escort, massage places ?

    Lido

Yes, I believe you are right.
This motel is very popular among GDP's and you can see it mentioned on many reports in local forums.
This is website you can refer to www.hotellidoplaza.com.br
I don't know where you will be located in Jardins area, but it is not too far. In case of no traffic at night, maybe 5-10 minutes.
Anyhow, in the hotel website there is a link to g-maps to give you right directions and distance.

As many of the GDP's reside in the Jardins area this is probably one of the reason they use Lido. Also, area is central and is easily, so to speak for such a traffic congested metropolis, accessible from all areas.

In case the girls you want to spend time with live in that area you may also go to their place. You will save motel money and some taxi money.
Maybe they live just around the corner where you live.

I will stay in the Jardins area, would it be asking too much for them to come see me? Would taxi fare be under R25?

And why is Lido such a hella popular place for the gp’s to live nowadays?

Been a few years since I was there!!!

    Fsd

    Chingon and all:

Another alternative to gpguia is http://www.forumsd.com. Br/phpBB/

It is very current, including reports from today as well as promotions from GP's themselves.

I like it better than WikiGP because it is current. But FSD does not have history like gpguia! And WikiGp has very little reviews, the most important thing IMO. Ratings count.

Gpguia is the best, it has both.

Just realizing from gpguia that some BR250 GP's in 2008 are now asking BR300.

Yes, use a proxy server as has been suggested in this forum and elsewhere to access gpguia if you cannot access it normally.

    Lido?

Suigeneris, as always, very interesting your posts..
proud to have a friend as cultured as you... I like that also.. besides the mongering vice of mine I have done some cultured escapes in the city as well... Sometimes to the Museums,, the new Brasilian plastic arts are as rich as their endless contribution on music and sports... crazy new theater is on vogue and excellent writers as well... unfortunately everything is in Portuguese not translated for foreigners...
Thanks Albert for answering the rodizio system,, Bionic man, I barely go out at that time,, besides is only one day on the week you can't drive at peak hours..
But if I really must... as Italy said,, the metro always comes handy.. even the metro is super crowded at that time is fast..
Italy, sadly I'm not in SaoPa anymore, I'm back home now, my plans are to go back on Spring brake (April) So let me know if you have planed a trip on that month gladly would like to hung around brother..
And Chingon.. thanks for the list of the GPs I think most of the girls online are in that list.... good job.. let me look for an old friend I can't find nowhere =) .. God I miss her so bad !!

    WikiGP

    Another source of information.
I found this GDP review site while Googling for more info on Ellen Coelhinha.
It has 561 Sao Paulo GDP's reviewed and was last updated on Aug 02, 08.
It has them listed alphabetically and by price, with links to the GDP's website:

    Minhocão

Hey guys! Very interesting posts...I like it.

Among the strange things we may find in São Paulo, nothing compares to the Minhocão.

(Here I quote from this article:http://institute.emerson.edu/vma/fac...ulo/index.html

The project also addresses the Minhocão, a local nickname for the elevated roadway across from the Castelinho. In the nineteenth century, many sightings surfaced from South America of a creature called the minhocão. An article by the French naturalist Auguste de Saint-Hilaire (1779-1853) in the American Journal of Science was the first published reference to this illusive creature of southern Brazil. Its name, he said was derived from the Portuguese word minhoca, meaning earthworm. Sainte-Hilaire recorded several instances, usually at fords of rivers, where livestock were captured by one of these creatures and dragged under the water. The Minhocão is described as a giant burrowing worm-like animal up to 75 feet long, with black scaly skin and two horn-like tentacle structures protruding from it's head, capable of digging enormous subterranean trenches. Although no credible accounts of sightings have been recorded since the late ninetieth century, the Minhocão is commonly blamed for houses and roads collapsing into the earth (sinkhole).

Completed in 1972, the Minhocão roadway runs alternately as tunnels and viaducts as it winds through São Paulo, splitting the city and creating an abject space that attracts one of the largest homeless populations in the world. (end of quotation).

It's strange to see that portion of an urban express way closed on Sunday.

how rodizio works <traffic regulation not meat restaurant>

System has been established about 10 years years ago in order to solve problem of ultra-congested traffic during peak hours.
It is in force monday to friday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the so called Mini Anel Viario area (see attached map).
In theory in peak hours traffic should reduce by 20% as monday plates ending with 1 and 2 are not allowed to circulate, tuesday plates ending with 3 and 4 are not allowed to circulate and so on.
    Fine is about R 85,00.

p.s doesn't stress you that guy on helicopter giving infos on radio channel about traffic jams and this or that street blocked ...

But one think you have to take in consideration whem making your daily schedule is the prime time for traffic..
8AM to 10:00 is crazy but nobody wakes up that early on vacations.
At lunch time is bad but not to bad to be a metropolis 5PM to 8:00Pm you better have some rest and getting ready for the night If yoy want to see somebody at your place at that time better call her at least 2 hours before so she can make it on time..
During the day are good prives and clinicas in Brooklyn, Moema, Bella Visa Pinheiros, Consolasao etc ,, So you don't need to go too far.
GPs are most of the time base on Jardins and Moema,, very easy to get there during day time..
At night is Ok to drive but try to go with at least one more friend and DO NOT go to the favelas or near by for any reason..
the "casas" are in safe places .. you can go to Connection, Bamboa, Cafe Photo, and even Bacos that is located in Sao Bernardo out side of SP but you take the highway and is OK, no need to go trough the colonias, Sao Bernardo is a safe city comparing to SP.
You can drive by the Augusta before 2 AM no problem.. if you miss the route the program will make a new one for you right away to take you to your destination.. good luck..
One more thing: DO NOT stop at the red lights when is dark and looks empty the streets, especially if you are in an unknown area of the city..
You forgot "rodizio" that is a traffic ban in certain hours of the day (if I am not wrong 7-10 and 18-20?) depending on the last digiti of the plate of the car. There are lots of traffic police officers checking out at traffic lights.
They wil not stop you bu the fine is sent to the car owner.
I do not know the details as wehen I am there I ignore the ban since the car owner (a very large corporate) will sort it out.
I am even wondering how it works if one rents a car..I mean, I rent a car and can't drive it?? Anyone knows about exceptions?

You are right, eventhough if one thinks SP is a city of approx (counted 19 mill people) and if "only" 10% is on the road, that makes 1.9 mil people on the road.
I have done other funny calculations...more related to mongering
How many people in SP are shagging in a specific but random moment of the day? lol

    I am with you Dealdo.

Even if using the Metro is the best way to save money and time I am definitely a "driver".

If I have the chance I prefer to use a car!

Still Metro may be a very useful "helping hand" durin the peak hours.

PS: I will be in Sao Paulo for 3 days soon (from January 28th to january 30th). Are you around there?

    Regards,

Last November, I had problem of going from Moema at rush hours. I took me 1 1/2 to go from Lavandisaca and Macuco to Santa Cruz metro station. Habitually, it's a 20 minutes bus ride!
