I will be spending a day in SP (my first time in Sampa) on the 20th of Feb, the day of the start of the SP Carnaval. I have a few questions for the connoisseurs of SP.

Since I will be leaving town the next day, I would want to stay close to GRU. I heard from friends in SP that the area near the international airport is not that nice and safe. Any truth to that?

Can you recommend a good hotel, nothing fancy, just a good reliable one within proximity of the airport and to a at least a clinica?
By the way, is Clinica Kin still open and how far is it from the GRU airport? If I were to stay in central SP, near Avenida Paulista, how far is that from the GRU airport by taxi?
Will there be any clinica open on that Friday of Carnaval or is everything closed that weekend?

And now talking about abuse of photo shop from Mclass our friend Hulk was talking about I will post this kind of bad experience..
