Why exchange money at all? I no longer do that. Get a debit card from a solid financial institution that refunds all ATM fees. I recommend Schwab, as have many others. One great feature with Schwab is that after you've pulled money from an ATM, you can then go online and lock your account so that it can't be used again until you are ready to get more cash and unlock the account yourself. Great security tool! Get an ATM card where the bank refunds ATM fees, use and ATM in a secure location, then lock / unlock your account as required. And voila you're good!

With all due respect brother cane. Nobody would care about places to exchange cash if they weren't showing up to Brazil with just that, cash! Some of us clearly prefer to use ATM's thus keeping small amounts of cash on hand. That's Fair enough. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that there are some mongers out there who like to bring cash to pay for their shady mongering activities instead. Some mongers are married and prefer to hide their everyday purchases from the prying eyes of their spouses. Believe it or not, there are many bm'ers who appreciate great intel on where to change hard cash as exchange houses in Brasil vary widely on the exchange rates they offer.

I think you are more likely to get it if you ask in advance. The last report before yours is also CBJ. You can't rely on chemistry (IOP). I have gone thru this cycle many times. Every time when I became comfortable not asking, I got CBJ but I have always asked in Scandallo and the answer is always yes.

Your negativity indicates that either you have never been to Scandallo or you have been there, but do not like paying Scandallo prices. In the latter case, that is fine. It is your money, spend it any way you like on anyone who will accept it. But in the former case, I think you might want to hold back on the criticism. There are some girls in Scandallo that you will not find in other boates, clinicas, or RJ termas and that's a fact.

Some clinicas give discounts to those who post reviews on gp-guia.net (usually an hour for the price of half an hour). Tangara doesn't.

Also I agree 100% with what Axel said, and I'll take this opportunity to share a recent misstep I had in Scandallo (11/16).

It's midweek and I see one of the top tier model level girls who's exactly my type. We start chatting, and my Portuguese is terrible, her English is similar, but we have a lot of chemistry. We talk for a long time, she doesn't ask for anything, doesn't ask about going upstairs, nothing. We've been fooling around a bit and I finally ask her how much to go upstairs, and she comes back with R1,800. I turn that down, offer R1,200 for 1. 5 hours. She asked for R1,500, I say no, she accepts the R1,200.

Now R800/ hour is the most I'd ever pay in Scandallo, but for 1. 5 hours it was still consistent with that rate, and as I only go once a week I didn't want to potentially waste the cover charge and not enjoy myself. Plus as I mentioned she was a knockout and we had great chemistry, so I didn't want to miss the opportunity as the odds of never running into her again are pretty high. So anyway, we go to the room, the chemistry is still in full effect as we're fooling around, BUT it turns out she is a germophobe and is the first / only girl in Brazil (out of, I don't even know, 40+) to do a CBJ. It's a question I'd ask anywhere else, but I don't even think to ask in Brazil anymore because I had never encountered it. So now could I have pushed the issue? Sure, but then what do I get? I'm 99% sure the answer is mediocre BBJ, all that chemistry would evaporate, and I'd be left with 1. 5 hours of mechanical sex. Or I can walk and I'm in a shit mood for the rest of the evening.

We do the best we can, hopefully learn from it, and most importantly get some enjoyment out of our time / money. Why would you post this negative comment? The OP filed a good trip report. Ok, he admitted he chose a Scandallo unwisely and in haste and then he let the girl get away with a CBJ in the room. Everybody fucks up once in a while, but the OP reports all this honestly, so I say, cut him some slack.

The important point is that in November 2022,800 br / session in Scandallo is not out of the ordinary. I have had Scandallo girls ask me anywhere from 500 br to 2500 br for an in-house session. In most cases the girls will agree to half of their original ask when I offer it. So, the real question is, is a Tier 1 Scandallo girl worth 1200 br / hour? I am talking about approximately 10% of the girls on a Thursday or Friday night IE the really good-looking model quality girls. The answer is that it's up to the individual punter. Some guys don't like Tier 1 model quality girls. They prefer something a little raunchier. Some guys can't afford Tier 1 model quality girls. And some guys will not play at this price level on principal even if they can easily afford it. But saying a guy doesn't know what he is doing because he went to Scandallo and paid the ballpark rate without negotiating it down is just wrong and not very friendly.

You shouldn't have a problem finding a casa de cambio on Avenida paulista with using google maps. I detected at least 3 of them. However, I found these places to give about the same exchange rate of about 25-30 centavos below the exchange rate de jour. If you find an exchange house that offers a better rate of exchange then please report back.

When I go to Tangara I get charged the R120/ R180 rates, and those match up with the prices I see on the local message boards for Sao Paulo.

Most of the others though, I'm getting hit with higher rates than what I see the locals pay, though they are consistent with what I see mentioned here. I made sure I was looking at recent reports from this month too. Am I missing something, are certain girls more expensive, or am I getting a gringo based upcharge?

Again the prices are still very reasonable, but just interested for my own peace of mind. Thanks.
