I've visited a hand full cambio's in Sao Paulo and felt the vast majority of them offer really crappy exchange rates. I presume you are speaking of the Shopping Ibirapuera mall. I have found the currency exchange there generally has better rates than the Jardim Paulista area where many visitors stay.

Spent 6 weeks in Brazil Feb-March mostly in SP but for the first time visited Rio as well during the first week of March. So about time I mentioned about this trip especially as I'm just back here for a week in SP again haha.
