Carnival in 2022 will take place outside the usual dates, which is mid February to early March. Also looks like is running for more days than usual (April 20 to April 30), weather will be colder and most daily activities are running as usual. April 21 is an official holiday, which means that most working Brazilians will be off from Wednesday night to Sunday night. I would expect things getting back to normal on April 25. During normal Carnival (summer time), there is a lot of traveling and partying taking place, interesting to see how it will play out this year. But, I will expect that there will be plenty of partying in So Paulo and Rio.

You can add Enjoy and Miruna to the list since they are all walking distance to each other. Remove Tangara because it's distance. You need to make a uber trip to Tangara. It is also a little rundown. Some don't like it. There are more black girls in Rio but you can find them in SP too

I'll be staying at DoubleTree Hilton for part of the stay and Pullman for the rest. I'm a Gringo. Based on research in this forum, my itinerary tentatively includes:

Clinicas:

Moema Prime.

Tangara.

Abbora.

57 Friends.

Clubs:

Scandallo.

Cafe Photo.

Bamboa.

Casarao.

Some questions:

0. Are there any other clubs / clinicas within walking distance of these hotels that I have failed to identify above?

1. Do free lancers work either of these hotels? If not, are there nearby hotels with free lancers that I could take back to either place?

2. Do the clubs / clinicas require you provide identification upon entry?

3. Do the clubs / clinicas have WIFI?

4. Will try to Uber as much as possible, but always like a contingent plan.

A. Is it safe for a Gringo to walk these areas alone after dark?

Be. Will the clubs / clinicas call a taxi for you if you ask?

5. Is it easy to find black girls? Asian girls?

I stopped doing trip reports after my first 3 visits to SP from last year, but my lat 3-4 trips since then have been better and better so I figure I should share some of the adventures, observations and tips after my 6+ trips to Brazil in the last 12 months.

Just be aware that this is coming from the perspective of someone who visit SP for only 4 to 7 days per trip and has limited Portuguese knowledge, so time is my most precious commodity. I am not looking to spend the majority of my limited time trying to find diamonds in the rough at bargain basement prices. I don't play the normal long game that some of the locals or long-term residents play.

My goal each trip is to shag the hottest girls possible that I have good chemistry or connection with. English skills are definitely a plus as I like to take a girl out to dinner, and having to use Google translate in that environment isn't enjoyable or optimal. I don't mind paying top end prices, but also look for "value" within said venue. If I can get most of the hotter girls for a pernoite at a particular boate for R1,000 to R1,500, I ain't going to be plunking down R3,000 to some hottie looking to hustle a gringo at that same spot!.

Yes, Also if you have specific place (s) you want to visit, take the time to ensure they are open and hours of operation. You may need to go to FB / IG / Twitter / websites or email or call the establishments. Some places close and or have shorter operating hours (Holidays / Carnival / Major Event).

As you can see the weather varies. On a sunny day SP weather can be real nice with a high around 76 F and all you may need is a windbreaker or nothing at all. But on a cloudy, rainy night the lows can be near 53 F which is not bad by Chicago or Berlin fall standards, but it warrants a versatile 3 season jacket if you want to be totally unaffected by the chill. And like I said in my previous post, I also recommend bringing a Patagonia Fleece Pullover or warm wool sweater to be completely comfortable on those chilly days in your unheated hotel room. That said, you don't need to bring anything extra except maybe a light weight windbreaker if you are the cold tolerant type.

Well, here it is, average low of 54-56F in May. Can get cool at night.

Dealing with North America winters, I'm fine outside with a handy light jacket if need be during the afternoon...... The Patagonia fleece pullover is good advice.

After that I will see how things are going during Carnival the following week. I know Bomboa and Solarium are going to be open during carnival, so everything should be OK. I plan to check them both out. My experience in other places during a national holiday is that even if 30% of the girls are doing something else there are enough quality girls on hand to keep me happy until everyone comes back. But like I said, I have my favorites on standby if things get too problematic.

Overall, what they call "cold" outside is nothing to me, but the temperature in my hotel was unacceptably cool with inadequate heat coming in through the ventilation, no matter how much I tried to adjust the temperature in my room.

I concur. While I'm sleeping under a layer of blankets, I'm fine. During the day, I have to leave the drafty room or I won't want to leave the bed.

Dealing with North America winters, I'm fine outside with a handy light jacket if need be during the afternoon. There is just something about sitting around idle in a drafty hotel room. The Patagonia fleece pullover is good advice.

There were a number of problems with the place, Hotel Mercure on Lavandisca in Moema, that I never stayed there again and cannot recommend it.

I actually quite like this hotel. I have stayed there many times with no problem.
