Great first report! Good formatting and easy to read. I didn't know about Clinica Cherry and Zarah Massagem. I'll have to try them out on my next visit, probably in a couple months. But are you sure about Prime's pricing? Back when I was there, and also confirmed by many other mongers, their pricing is R180/30 min, R240/60 min. Are they really only 180/60 min now?? That's amazing if it is! I believe this is the normal pricing in Rio clinicas.

I think this is very good advice and I have suspected it based on my limited experience so far.

I also think one should hit as many clinicas as possible first to acclimate to the optic. I think 50% of the girls are just average. You can easily get 80% of the girls from clinicas. I am not sure about the top level talent yet. I am reserving comment about them until I have more experience. I am not picky. For context, I think the Cane and SK have posted some beautiful girls. I went from planning to spend anything I want to wait and see.

One thing I am surprised about is how aggressive some of the Scandallo girls are. Some English speaking ones will approach you and some will try to get you hard, again just my limited experience.

It all depends on one's "taste" and one one's "time". With enough time one can find plenty for one's taste outside of the high end boates. Just have to know where to look and have the time and patience to do so. I can understand guys who have only a few days going to the big clubs for the convenience factor and the adrenaline rush of being in the largest candy store. By the same token there are amazing girls who don't work the night clubs because they hate the atmosphere or have logistical reasons to prefer other modalities.

If you have been to Colombia, the Scandallo girls dress more formally like the girls in Bogata Lido (my experience is a few years ago). The other Colombia high end club is Medellin La Isla, the girls dress more casual there. I think if you are used to either, you likely won't be surprised at Scandallo.

First of all thanks SocratesNY for the great on the ground write ups. Living vicariously. I'the been thinking about correcting the massive garotas numbers being thrown about but never have. You are right that even on a top night pre-Covid I estimated 150-200 girls. Could it be a bit more? I suppose. 500-700. No way. I think the kid in the candy store gets guys heads spinning.

I didn't see the 500+ girls some claim are at Scandallo, but maybe that's later in the evening or when the main dance floor is open. I find the 150+ that I have seen to be overwhelming. If it gets to 500-700+ with the same quality, my head might explode!

Good observations. Visitors should enjoy themselves but also should try to respect the local market and not distort it just because the exchange rate is currently favorable. 500 an hour is more than fair, paying more than that is going to further distort the scene. As reported, there are more than enough that will gladly accept 500 even if they start off asking for 800 or more. Some will accept 400 (I've even seen lower) particularly outside the peak hours (11-2) as they know they can try for another customer after you.

As for numbers of girls, excluding outliers like Formula 1 week, I would say 100-200 is more likely than not. I admit its hard to count a crowd that is in flux so I could be wrong. Anyone ever ask the management how many rooms are on premise?

Also the longer one is in town, the more one should branch out. Scandallo is not the only game in town, nor the best cost benefit unless you are really time constrained.

Here are some random observations and advice I would give a random newbie going to SP for the first time.

These come from the lens of an experienced and well traveled hobbyist with limited travel time and decent financial means, who doesn't speak the local language. I am also from a US city where the cost of living and P4 P is quite high. For others in different situations, a different approach or viewpoint might fit their style more.

Transportation:.

Uber is your friend. Taxis cost way more, even during surge pricing. Uber black is often times similar in pricing and even occasionally cheaper than regular Uber. The benefits of Uber black is they almost never cancel on you and have quicker arrival times. As Uber is so cheap in Brazil, I usually just use Uber black over regular Uber to save time. I found the traffic to be more than tolerable and hear it was way worse pre-pandemic.

Local Currency:

I find having checking accounts with ATM fees refunded to you is the best way to get local cash. I use Schwab and TD for international hobbying ATM withdrawals without fees. You get very close to the exchange rate. Just make sure you to decline the conversion offered by the local bank. I also find Branseco to be my go to ATM due to their security and higher withdrawal limits.

I usually withdraw cash enough for a couple of days of hobbying upon arrival at GRU. There are some right after customs and more on first and second floor of arrivals terminal.

I also carry some $100 bills for emergency conversion at a local exchange, at the hotel and even directly with the GDP.

Cellular Service:

Google Fi is great if you are in country for more than a few days. It is also a great international hobbying phone as you can pause and resume service anytime and pay a prorated amount for service used. Their connection is reliable around SP and RJ. Except by Christ the Redeemer, but that's probably the case for all cell service as AT&T and Verizon didn't work there either.

If you are only there for a few days and have AT&T or Verizon, then just use their daily plan, which is like $10 per day. Much less of a headache then trying to find a sim card dealer that speaks English and able to install and load it for you without a CPF.

Hotels:

I have found the Grand Hyatt, Intercontinental and Renaissance in SP and the JW Marriott in RJ to be girl friendly. I also heard from some monger I met at a clinica that the Bourbon and Mecure in Moema were also girl friendly and very cheap and convenient for waking to clinicas around Moema.

The Grand Hyatt did have the girl register when I came back with her from dinner at 10 pm. They initially tried to charge me, but I pointed out that I had booked a room for 2 guests so they apologized and didn't charge me. Their location isn't the best as it isn't near the main tourist area or Scandallo, but are closer to some clinicas by Brooklin and Itam Bibi. The hotel also quite nice and currently priced cheaply for a 5 star establishment due to COVID-19 destroying business travel and the weak Real.

I brought a girl back at 1 am to the Intercontinental and we walked right in hand in hand and no one stopped us. I find the hotel to be okay, but below other intercontinental hotels worldwide. It is a stretch to call this a 5 star place.

I brought a girl back to the Renaissance after dinner at 10 pm and no one stopped us. We even strolled around the bar as I heard that some working girls occasionally hang out there, but we saw none that were obvious. This hotel is super modern and nicer than the Grand Hyatt by a little bit. It is centrally located to everything (good restaurant, shopping, tourists places, clinicas and Scandallo, etc.) and priced cheaply due to weak Real. It's my go to place for future stays in SP.

The JW Marriott had the girl register when we came in at 2 am, but after a min of awkward small talk while the girl at the front desk did her entry, we were in our way. The JW is centrally located in Copacabana and in decent shape and offered good service.

Clinicas:

I've only been to 2 so my experience is limited, but I find them to be of tremendous value and that the girls offer good service as it's mostly locals and repeat customers. I plan to check out a few more on my next trip in a few weeks and maybe hit some of the higher end clinicas.

Scandallo:

At the end of the day, I've not experienced anything comparable to Scandallo in it's combination of quantity and quality. The closest for me are FKKs in Germany, but the eastern European girls (mostly Romanians) are on average not as service oriented or passionate as Brazilian girls. I've been to FKKs where there were 100+ girls and many 8's and 9's, but mechanical service and upselling are more common.

My other friends says Dongguan, China in it's prime can compare but that's in the past now. Also Hong Kong Club in Tijuana can compare for size and quantity and optics of girls, but the service is way lower and the costs is higher than Scandallo for 60 min.

After spending 2 days in RJ, I was looking forward to my return to SP. I arrived at CGH and it was a quick Uber to my hotel in Jardim. As I was flying back to the US in 2 days, I went to a local Drogasil on Av. Paulista and got my COVID-19 Antigen test done. It was R100 and completed after an hour due to 3-4 people ahead of me in line. I then hit up a local Bradesco ATM and then hit Scandallo.

Scandallo: (Friday, August 2021).

I had planned to get to the club before 7 pm to avoid the cover, but my errands took longer than I expected so I got there around 8 pm. I checked in, was told it was R150 cover and R150 min consumption and returned to paradise after exiting the elevator. The place was hoping and more packed than my last trip in June.

There were at least 100+ girls and by the constant incoming and outgoing of girls, I guess there were 150+ working that night. The restaurant was more packed with guys than last time. I would guess 2 x as much as it was hard to get any table to eat. It got worse as the night went on, when it was standing room only in the restaurant. I was told that the main outdoor area is now open later at night, but the disco / dance area was still under renovations. They did say they there will be a live band later at night, which was pretty good too.
