........I've been to Rio back in the days of Disco Help but not since 2004. Never been to Sao Paulo but looking forward to visiting the nightclubs you mentioned. Could someone tell me the similar places in Rio other than Casablanca? I've read the last ten pages of Rio forum but don't see much mentioned on nightclubs. I'll be visitng both cities over a few weeks time. I'm not into the termas as much as nightclubs unless they've changed since 2004.

Since Help closed in 2009, no large club with significant numbers of working girls has emerged. One would suspect the city of Rio wants it that way. There are a smattering of girls in a few nightlife venues.

Some of my buddies don't care for termas. Some hate the brothel set-up and / or waiting in line to fuck in small rooms. We try to meet up with cool termas girls outside the termas. We also like to socialize in the termas bar with the girls. Granted, it's not the same as a club.

I tend to agree with The Cane here RTFF. This SP vs. Rio topic comes up almost every two weeks for the last ten plus years since Help Disco in Rio closed. It sounds like you've heard all the comparisons.

As far as finding negras and mulattas, I will reiterate I have not noticed big disparities in the numbers between the two cities. These are both huge cities only separated by 200 miles. I myself generally don't run around Brazil looking for fair-skinned blondes either.

I wouldn't overanalyze the decision and just visit both cities.

I can't recall your tolerance for playing the Sugar Baby game but I would try my hand at that for evenings in Rio. Beachside dining and overnights with hotties in Rio sounds divine to me (see my recent Seeking Arrangements thread FR. This was USA but you get the idea). Because of Covid, deciding on the trip was not an easy decision but been working every day for past ten months and just needed it. This was my first time in Sao Paulo and wanted to make this trip report for any newbies visiting this city in near future. You can also check out my trip reports for Rio, Medellin, Cali, Panama City as well.

Final thought- The trip was decent even with Covid situation. Surprisingly, everyone in Sao Paulo always wear a mask which made me felt safe and the city showed a lot wealth which was different from Rio. There were many fancy cars and people popping bottles at Scandallo and other clubs. As many members will advise, splitting the days between Rio and Sao Paulo isn't a bad idea. Just note that even with killer currency, you will spend some money when visiting night spots such as Scandallo and connection on a nightly basis. If you are thinking about making the trip, just do it.

Hardly any AirBnb places have an in-room safe. I haven't stayed in a place devoid of an in-room safe for ages. How do you guys deal with this? No alternative but sticking to hotels?

AirBnb should have a policy about this instead of making a show of carbon monoxide detectors and whatnot.

Because I've made several trips to Cuba I had to carry large amounts of cash as ATMs don't work for Americans there. I split up my bankroll and hide it 8 to 10 places between all my belongings and me. So that even if I was robbed they would probably find one stash and think that is THE stash. This system now works so well for me I prefer to use it over the lock boxes excpet when I'm in Medellin and renting longer term. And even then I still keep several stashes separate from the lock box. Something unsettling about having everything in one metal box screwed to a shelf exactly where a thief would know to target.

So it could be a Brazil problem. I keep mailing AirBnB hosts in Sao Paulo and only one or two who are inside hotels have safes. I am in such an AirBnB right now in fact.

In Thailand even 2-star hotels have safes. And Thailand may be where safes are the least needed owing to the country's outstanding safety record.

I wasn't linking COVID to bad smells. I was saying that maybe the reason why the talent was subpar is due to the pandemic, with only the most desperate of tutes being willing to still get out there and risk it working in the clubs. Never had a problem with foul smelling girls in Brazil ever. So don't know what that was about. Also, with COVID still on the March, the quality of the girls could be down, with only the most desperate and hard up for cash willing to take a chance and keep working in the clubs.
