In one of the trip reports it was suggested to go to departures to find Uber stand. I did follow that suggestion without success. I think it is easier to find / catch Uber outside arrivals. Step out of the arrivals building. The The vehicle traffic move from your left to right. There are 2 pedestrian crossings to cross to the opposite side. Go to the leftmost one and cross and get to the 2nd platform. Book your ride from there and you will have a good view of vehicles coming towards you to easily identify your Uber.

Taxis are plentiful but I think having Uber on your phone would make getting around lot easier. I never used Uber until yesterday. I just installed the app, setup an account that is it. I have Google Fiber so I don't have to deal with switching SIMs etc. I have no issues ordering Uber rides even though I have US phone number.

Is it necessary to buy electric converter to charge phone in SP?

Based on googled info Brasil uses 110 v and 120 v electric outles.

I got to SP today, the hotel I am staying in has 120 v outles so I used my European electrical converter to change my phone.

If any new bees planning to visit SP and wondering if you need to buy some kind of electrical converter like I didq then now you know what you could do.

Next door at 343 there appears to be a door that might be the entrance to the place but there is no sign, just the number, like some clinicas that have no names displayed, just the address number. Is 343 the actual address? Also, the building seems to be covered in netting on Google maps. Was it like that when you went?

Yeah the address is 343. The date on my google map street view is August 2017 so I don't think there is any netting now.

There is no name on the building and right now the entire street / plaza is under construction out front. But all of the sidewalks and businesses are still open. I did see a poster as you walk through the door advertising a Churrasco celebration soon, but I didn't look at it very closely and did not even check out the dates. There are many places clinicas / clubs / boates / bars all over this city with no names on the front.

But this time I want to stay close to Rua Augusta. Do you have any recommendations as to areas in Centro that are relatively safe and / or areas to avoid?

Stayed in Airbnb a block off Rua Augusta near Metro Higienopolis for 3 weeks. Felt safe and I walked around that area as late as 3 AM.

Have never been to Centro after 8 PM so would not really recommend the area. Used to go to an X-rated cinema downtown (it's now called Cinemão Stud G) where they had strip shows, live sex shows, and girls available for private and even public (blow jobs in the seats). Cinema is only for gay men now. Really different from any place that I've ever been in Sao Paulo. They had a full bar too!

If you want consistent 8+ girls, you need to go to the top boates at night or book some well-reviewed escorts. Researching escorts will take a little time.
