On the recommendation of AltoBomGosto I visited Privee Akaru tonight, I'd struggled to find much in the way of info before visiting so I hope this helps others.

After what has effectively been a recce I decided to return the following night (tonight, Monday).

Inside the building: You're politely greeted and sat in a large open room with a fan and a TV. There were several other guys waiting in the room, but it was all very relaxed and not unfriendly. Nods and smiles all around. I asked whether I could have a drink and 5 minutes later. After someone popped out for it. A beer was put in my hand. Nice!

Selection: I was told there were 6 girls available but most were with clients. I had a beer and wasn't in a rush so bided my time to see them all. I speak no Portuguese but the (very nice) guy running the place spoke enough English for me to get by. The idea is that when you see the girl you want you let him or her know.

Hotel or Flat? Depends on how long you are going to stay. I reccoment staying on Av. Paulista, near R. Augusta, where the action is. Best ones : Hotel Renaissence and Hotel Tivoly.

Or Liberdade, the oriental district. There is a very nice, girl friendly and not expensive hotel on R. São Joaquim called Hotel Leques.

You have lots of options of Privées and CLínicas near A. Paulista and Av. The Liberdade.
