Fly direct to Bogota, simple, and you're then in a capital city with nice new areas, food & drink, a different club to go to each night and world-class talent (lots of it, as of two weeks ago). Inexpensive cabs. As for list accuracy, places around 86th and on 68th appear to be closed as these areas getting cleaned up (Maybe daytime things being pushed down below 24th zona? Down there can be seen some of the most monstrous gross fat things, with some good too mixed in if you persevere.

Yep. I guess that is why I am now considering BOG. I cannot fly direct, but can make only one stop enroute and can get to / from the same day. Tough to make that happen to MDE, these days. I used to go to Medellin for a minimum of 6 days, but found 7-8 was far better. These days, getting away for 5 will be like an eternity! But the information on BOG is far less current than that available for Medellin. Trying to figure out the scene is much more difficult, mostly because maps and lists are quite outdated, especially for Colombia.

Thanks, I am considering this hotel for my visit next month as well. Did you feel safe walking to Santa Fe? What is the best route to walk to, say, La Piscina? Do you walk straight up Calle 24? 24 looks deserted in some parts and 23 looks tight with some boarded up buildings.

The walk is fine during the day up until around 10 pm. The hotel is right next to a university (Universidad Incca) and they have night classes. Typically they're are students milling around until 9-10 pm. There is also security at the school around that time. That is.

What gives me confidence. Later than that I just take a cab to and from Santa Fe. Usually there are cops in and around Santa Fe, so I really don't worry about being there. There are bums and other vagrants. But in my experience they're harmless. Just be aware.

Of your surroundings and don't pull your phone out unless you're inside the club. As far as the route to Piscina, just take 24. Although on value and quality, I'm a big fan of A'Tun and La Troya.

Just in case someone needed another GF hotel near Santa Fe. I've stayed here a couple of times and I've had no problems bringing girls up as long as I booked for 2 people.

It's on Carrera 13 between Calle 24 and 25. It's usually around 80 K per night. The rooms are decent, clean, safe, and the water warm if not hot.
