Hey there guys. I hope you guys can help me. I will have a 10 hour layover in Bogota on a saturday night arriving about 930pm. I dont know any areas or anything about Bogota. What I am looking for is the best strip club/casa that I can find that is obviously not too far from the Airport and maybe even a very cheep hotel where I can freshen up at and store my bags and passport before going for a quick power mongering evening. What I would hope for is an area with quite a few clubs similar to Tijuana mx in the same area near said cheap hotel.(40k-60k pesos/night). I am not really afraid of most areas(extensive mongering in Mexico), so a little so called "dangerous" areas is not a problem. I am 6 foot 240 with long black hair and dark complected with tatoos and I speak spanish like native colombians(no gringo accent). I actually think I scare most of them. jejeje. Or would you guys recommend me getting a guide for a few hours? and if so, who?. thanks for any help

Well, some people say it's not that bad, but I have heard some real horror stories. The taxista who drove us home Thursday night claims the Zona Rojas are all fine because the owners of the establishments take a vested interest in making sure people don't get jacked leaving their clubs, as it can put a dent in return business, guess it just depends on who you ask.

Generally a good idea in any part of any city is to have the bar's staff call a taxi for you when leaving, It's not 100% foolproof but it helps. Even better, call a taxista you already know or arrange ahead of time for them to meet you there. Can be tough though because taxis HAVE to take a day off by law Mon-Sat and that day varies from week to week, you need to have multiple numbers in your Rolodex.

... Another area I will mention just for archival purposes is Primero De Mayo between av 68 and av Boyacá. This is the Zona Roja of the south. It would be hard to even find a taxi to go there at night, and you wouldn't believe the horror stories I've heard. I've only ever been there in the day, when it's just a bustling commercial district. But it's not an exaggeration to say they are dragging a corpse out of those 10 blocks or so every 3rd day or so.

Oh, great. Now they tell me. They actually have this advertised in the Tourist Booths and I have post cards advertising this as the Zona Rosa of the south. I went there one night and it was definetly interesting.. there were some strip clubs/chica joints but the girls there were ugly. I didn't even ask about prices. Also the normal clubs around the area go off but 1) the drinks are not cheaper than up north and 2) the women that I saw were not as hot.

Note - I did go on a bad (and safer) time..early January when most of the folks where still outside of Bogotá on vacation.
